Guest guest
<< I was told I did not have choice but I felt great and had a hard time understanding my life was in great danger, my family could lose me in a snap.. >> What Alba didn't include in her post ...was that her situation was NOT a simple acm ...she had basilar invagination with acm ....a different ball of wax that few of us must face making decisions about . A good example of what I met saying we arn't able to compare apples and oranges folks ...someone with BI needs a different sort of surgery ( most often a halo too ) ...and faces different risks chosing to do nothing . She does still have acm in common with the rest of us zipperheads ...but only a small percentage of folks with acm have BI . Alba has been a true inspiration to know ....its only been a few weeks since her surgery ....shes got that halo on ...and shes back to doing some limmited time in her office already . She's also a good example of what Chip reminds us all ....attitude makes a big differance in how well we recover , and how well were able to resume a full active life . It's possible to be very challenged ( read try a halo on for a day , lol ) ....but make the most of whats available to you too . Do reread chips target fixation page , and remember Kennedy's half full glass ....don't limmit your recovery or what you can accomplish by someone elses terms . you may suprise yourself ! sarah in paradise
Guest guest
I know every once in a while I wonder if I didn't have surgery where would I be but I feel if I wouldn't of I things would of been very different. My little chiari surgery in comparison to what Alba had is nothing........no comparison. I always look at my days in a positive way becoz' always know that it could be so much more worse than yesterday. There are days when I also have a pity party for myself but know I can come here to get Hugz and Smiles. Tina
Guest guest
, You are sooooo nice to me, made me feel soooooo good! I am just doing what I need to do .....and having a ball doing it!!!! When Tina says her surgery was small I don't think she is right (I've told you this on the phone Tina) ...every surgery is a big deal, I don't care how long or invasive it is..... I have been veeeery lucky to have been dx without having real symptoms, having found " the doctor " , having had so many relatives help out and having y'all there ALL THE TIME ......I can't ask for more!!!! You , are the perfect example of someone who is going to do what she wants to no matter what ......I read you and I say: " gosh she is doing all that, amazing " ....we can make the choice of making life ABSOLUTELY FASCINATING, and we have!!! HUGS dear , hugs Alba Re: Surgery? I will always wonder > > > > << I was told I did not have choice but I felt great and had a hard time > understanding my life was in great danger, my family could lose me in a > snap.. >> > > What Alba didn't include in her post ...was that her situation was NOT a > simple acm ...she had basilar invagination with acm ....a different ball of > wax that few of us must face making decisions about . > > A good example of what I met saying we arn't able to compare apples and > oranges folks ...someone with BI needs a different sort of surgery ( most > often a halo too ) ...and faces different risks chosing to do nothing . > > She does still have acm in common with the rest of us zipperheads ...but only > a small percentage of folks with acm have BI . > > Alba has been a true inspiration to know ....its only been a few weeks since > her surgery ....shes got that halo on ...and shes back to doing some limmited > time in her office already . > > She's also a good example of what Chip reminds us all ....attitude makes a > big differance in how well we recover , and how well were able to resume a > full active life . > > It's possible to be very challenged ( read try a halo on for a day , lol ) > ...but make the most of whats available to you too . > > Do reread chips target fixation page , and remember Kennedy's half full glass > ...don't limmit your recovery or what you can accomplish by someone elses > terms . > > you may suprise yourself ! > > sarah in paradise > > > > > > > Help section: http://www.yahoogroups.com/help/ > > NOTE: NCC refers to posts with No Chiari Content > > To Unsubscribe Yourself: chiari-unsubscribeYahoogroups > > WACMA Home: www.pressenter.com/~wacma > > WACMA List: www.eGroups.com/group/chiari > > >
