Guest guest
Hi Margaret, Does this derm do your entire face? How many zaps would you say that he does? I had a spot test done last Friday and I had the red/purple marks. They are about gone now ( along with some veins ). Dr Nase recommended putting zinc on the spots and I feel between that and the compound that Ive been using it helped to fade them alot. The zinc might help the blister heal more quickly. I go Monday for more. Should be interesting working on Tuesday! Im looking for that really thick zinc that the lifeguards wear on their nose! This should be one interesting summer! I dodge the sun like some sort of vampire! Bill ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guest guest
Hi Margaret, I will respond to both of your posts on photoderm. First my settings are 550 filter, 34 energy, 12 mil. second/2 pulses. For me I had excessive swelling and prupla (bruising). It took 2 weeks I'd say to really see the initial improvement. I would say my cheek area has improved by 30% reduction of redness. This does not stop me from flushing if I get upset or happen upon a trigger for me. Form what I understand after so many TX's a person is able to stop the flushing reaction (maybe not totally). Dr. Bitter's web page info say it does this. I am expecting it to do so for me and anyone else getting this procedure. Just a question, are you doing anything that may be causing a dilation of blood vessels? working out, sun exposure, overheating? Humidity (showers). These are all things that I avoid totally, they tend to bother me too much. I am almost tempted to say.......maybe they aren't getting the settings deep enough to truly do much damage to those vessels? Be sure and call your doc and let him know your concerns and disappointment. They should be willing to adjust the settings and offer a free session if necessary... I would really stress the importance of getting your money's worth! Also, you said they had yours set with 3 pulses? The tech at my doc's office said they only use that for people with high melanin in the skin? Are you olive or dark complexion? Guest guest
Hi, This is a question for those of you that have had photoderm treatments. I had my second treatment on Friday and it was totally different from the first treatment. After the first treatment I was pretty red, then the next day I was still very red and had a few swollen areas. After my second treatment I was not very red and by 7 PM that I night I noticed that my coloring was considerably lighter than usual. I was very excited and a little skeptical since I had never heard of having such fast results. Then I woke up the next day and I was red again. Now it is 2 days later and I am still red, although maybe not as much as yesterday. I'm a little frustrated because I felt like it was a teaser, and I'm a little baffled. Any ideas or similar experiences? Thanks, Margaret H. ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guest guest
<<working out, sun exposure, overheating?>> I was out almost all day in the sun, first on a tour of historic houses, and then working in my garden. It was a warm day (California). I wore sunscreen, of course, and when I was in my garden I wore a hat. But as I said in my previous email, I have been cea - free all day. Go figure. Maybe the acupuncture is working. Guest guest
Hi Carol, After my first treatment I did have a couple of bumpy areas that were red. These bumpy areas were in the spots where my rosacea is more severe. These areas were also a little swollen after treatment. And the swelling went down after a couple of days. Today the redness has come down a lot, and I might even see some improvement. I was baffled after this last treatment, because about 5 hours after the procedure I noticed a tremendous improvement which lasted the rest of the day, but then I woke to a red face. The redness has gone down so I'm not too worried. Overall the second treatment did not cause nearly as much redness or swelling, and my doctors office said this was common. I guess by the second treatment your skin is not as sensitive. How are you doing? Any improvement yet? Guest guest
Hi everyone, It's been 6 days since my second photoderm treatment and I'm happy to report that I have seen a significant improvement. My coloring has been much lighter for 3 days now. I'm sure some of it is also due to the mild weather. I just wanted to let everyone know that I am having good results, because frankly I was starting to think there was no hope for my skin. Guest guest
Hi everyone! I have been experiencing major computer problems these last few days hopefully I will be able to post successfully to the group!! Had my second photoderm TX on Wed. and we kept the settings the same. I wish they did offer a numbing cream, it was pretty uncomfortable. However, this time I only got a few of those purple marks and lots of redness. Swelling is about half as bad as the 1st time, instead of looking like a blow fish who pigged down 12 x-large pizza's it's more like a blow fish who only ate 4 pizza's! At this time I can't tell any difference in skin tone I expect that to take another 5-7 days when all the swelling goes down and the marks fade some. Glad to hear you are doing well Margaret!! Bill, have you had your 1st TX yet? I will keep you all posted, Darlene ------------------------------------------------------------------------ eGroups.com home: /group/rosacea-support - Simplifying group communications

Guest guest
Hi Darlene and group, I had my second spot test this past Monday. I must have been zapped 20 times! Its like getting a tattoo!! Anyway, the first spot test left a few purple red spots that were impossible to cover for a few days. I think between the compound that I have been using and zinc oxide creme on the spots ( Dr Nase recommended that ) they faded within 5 days. Some veins are gone from the first spot test. I didnt get any swelling or additional redness that lasted. This time I was a bit swollen, especially under the eyes where he zapped a couple of spots, and a bit more red, but its about gone now and so are some more veins and red spots. I got one tiny dark red spot on my forehead from the procedure, but its about gone. I go on June 14 for more. This time he'll do a broader area. The procedure is far from comfortable, but Ive been through worse........So far it looks like it will work, but I think that it will take a good number of treatments to produce the results that I want. I think that I'll be living in plastic surgeons and derms offices for the entire summer! Guest guest
glad to hear that things are looking up for you bill, we have corresponded on and off over the past year and you are always willing to talk about the leaky gut syndrome and the acid and alkaline foods it is nice to hear that you have had a positive in your treatment as you have faced a rocky road over the past number of years...I just wanted to say that there is a saying.... what goes around comes around and the face that you have been helping people with your advice meant that it would only be time before something good happened to you. susan Re: re:Photoderm >Hi Darlene and group, > I had my second spot test this past Monday.
