Guest guest
Vicky - a lot of pople have experienced water retention (edema) while on Avandia. Keep an eye out for that also. Carole Boston Terrier Rescue of Las Vegas BTCSouthernNevada.com Talked with my doctor Hi, y'all I took everyone's advice and faxed my dr. all the relevant info about the last ten days' levels, what I've eaten, etc. She called me today and said she was concerned about the levels in the 50s and 60s. She took me off the Glucatrol and put me on 15 mg. of Avandia 2x daily, which she thinks might also help with my steatohepatitis as well. She said the major side effect of the Avandia is that it'll make me gain weight (gulp!). Have others experienced this? Any other side effects anyone knows about? In other news, I just found out that I've been medically approved for bariatric surgery. Waiting to hear from the insurance company. I'll keep everyone posted. I have been on it since November of 2002 and have lost 180 pounds. I had been concerned that once I neared my goal weight (still not there, about 20 pounds to go) I might gain weight on the Avandia, but so far so good. So it's not guaranteed that everyone will have weight gain as a side effect. Good luck with it, it has worked well for me, gail
