County MED-ACT is currently seeking a Battalion Chief - Training.

County, Kansas is a rapidly developing community located in the

southwest portion of the Kansas City metropolitan area. MED-ACT is a

" third-service " government agency providing primary advanced life support

911 service to County. MED-ACT responds to over 20,000 calls

annually, covers 475 square miles, and serves a growing population over

450,000 (urban, suburban, and rural). The system is well regarded for its

high standard of patient care and opportunity for clinical practice.

The major responsibilities for the Battalion Chief - Training include

providing annual continuing education and

re-certification for field personnel, assisting in the development of

medical protocols and standing orders, contribution to the collection of

data, and research development. This position also works with other

emergency service agencies, coordinating, and assisting in the development

and presentation of educational programs.

Benefits include a competitive salary (Starting $50,045-$68, 442 with a

maximum of $91,256 annually); vacation, sick, flexible benefit plan, all

uniforms provided, Kansas Police & Fire Retirement System, all

re-certification hours required by the State are provided by MED-ACT.

Qualified applicants for employment must provide evidence of an Associates

degree. A Bachelor's or Masters degree in education, allied health, or

related field is preferred. Five (5) years of experience as a paramedic in

an ALS system and possess or be eligible to receive Kansas certification as

a paramedic or current NREMT-P. Have a minimum of two years experience

providing continuing education or initial education to ALS providers.

Current affirmation as an AHA CPR and ACLS instructor required and current

provider status in a pediatric course, and BTLS/PHTLS preferred. Possess a

valid driver's license and safe driving record.
