Your dr will only insert the balloon if he finds and cuts a septum.

It is supposed to prevent scarring and to help the uterus heal

properly - but not all drs use it. Regardless of whether he cuts

anything or not, I don't think you can go to work the day of your

surgery (unless surgery is later and you go to work 1st). They will

fill your abdomen with gas, and the gas will be a bit painful as it

dissipates. Also, the incisions will be a bit painful and black and

blue for a couple days. Of course, here I'm saying all this and I've

not even gone thru it yet! Tomorrow's my day.

My dr. said most ppl feel fine after two days, to return to work. If

he uses a balloon on me (I'm either SU or BU, just like you), he will

insert it and I go back 7 days later to get it removed. He said it's

possible it will fall out before then, and if it does, not to worry

about it. Apparently since the end of the balloon is external, it's

not the most comfortable thing in the world, so I'm hoping for it to

fall out early! Altho I have heard you can't feel the part that is

in your uterus.

Good luck on your upcoming surgery!
