Regarding being told you cannot be out of work for surgery that is needed:

I do not see how they can do that. Contact your local chapter of the labor

board. They can tell you what the law is. Waiting could affect you health.

I would not want to work for someone who was like that. That makes no

sense.

That is it. I never heard it before nor do I now see it in Stedmans.

Thanks.

Hi! Any chance it could be callusing? Just a guess! :)

I know I have some rewording and lots of grammar checks but he is using

one term constantly and I can't document it:

Calcing (possibly he is speaking of calcifications?) Anyone ever hear

this said this way?

On patient exam he has no apparent leg length discrepancies. Patient's

sensation is good in both feet even the right lower extremity where he

had the amputation. It appears that he had the 5th digit on his right

foot amputated as well as part of the metatarsal head. The head of the

amputation is well healed however he does have some *S/L calcing* on the

end of the metatarsal on the bottom of the foot as well as at the base of

the 5th metatarsal. He also exhibits with some *again S/L calcing*on the

1st metatarsal head on the right foot and his forefoot and hindfoot are

flexible, however he does have some dry skin on the heel of his right

foot as well. Normally bearing his arch is medium in height. I also

observed that when he was walking that since he is currently wearing a

surgical boot on the right side and a regular sneaker on the left that he

has some medial lateral instability where is foot will supinate when he

weight bears on the right side, this due to the lack of 5th toe and the

lack of support from the surgical boot. Manual muscle testing of the

right seems normal. Patient also exhibits with hammer toes on the 2nd and

3rd toes of his right foot.

On exam of the left foot, patient has again some dry skin on the heel and

forefoot, 1st metatarsal and 5th metatarsal has some minor *S/L calcing*

Any help appreciated

I'd have to flag it because it's not clear to me whether tp was in extreme

discomfort 2 months ago

(and not now) or if tp has been in extreme pain FOR 2 months. My first tendency

was to change FOR

to BUT, but then I realized I actually didn't know if this is what is meant.

p.s. I would put a comma after " to stay active and. " :)

GOOD MORNING SUNSHINES:

How would you guys recast this?

Orthotics dictates this:

" It was not for a couple of months ago she was in extreme discomfort that

she finally went to see Dr. Oppenheim. Patient wants to stay active and

on a regular basis patient does play tennis and often uses the treadmill

to exercise. "

Aliceanne,

That first sentence could be interpreted in several different ways, so I'm

leery of tacking it with punctuation and suggestions of omitted words.

The second sentence, though, should read: Patient wants to stay active,

and on a regular basis patient does play tennis and often uses the

treadmill to exercise.

Thank you. It was dictated as one long sentence and I could not figure

out any kind of meaning. I did fax it back to the dictator for his

response.

I will be asking him if I can consider this a non-verbatim account.

I say RUN!!! This is way too much money, especially the $100 per month. When

I had to lease stuff from a company I worked for years ago, I paid $25/month

and got reference books and all for that amount.

I would definitely not take this job. Just to begin with, they are asking WAY

too much for the computer. Even MedQuist will provide the computer for $25/pay

period and nothing down. Can't you provide the computer and just load their

software? Also, I have never heard of a co. requiring an extensive list of

specific references. As long as the IC has a good variety of references, I have

not heard of them requiring a lot of specifics. Furthermore, the companies I

have worked for have always provided the physician directories for their own

accounts.

I'd say keep looking.

Hey everyone,

How much expense would you put in to getting a new client? Even for good

pay... I got my foot in the door and job offer from a place in Northern VA.

They pay per byte not line. They want me to lease their equipment ($500

down and $100 a month) to use only for their work. I would have to provide

a monitor and printer. I also found out possibly the only cable internet

service available to me is $52 a month. They also require you to have

certain books and physician directories.. What do you guys think? Thanks

for any advice..

Sounds like it may have already tho Carol ! Normally doesn't drain out unless

you have tubes or a rupture !

,

I think you'd better go in tonight. It sounds horrible. Like you

should have probably gone in way sooner. You are such a stinker.

You always take such good care of everyone, oh yeah except for

. Go to your ER or Prompt Care type of place. Your eardrum

could rupture.

Hi,

Some people test two hours after they begin a meal, while others test two

hours after finishing a meal. I test anywhere from 1 hr 45 minutes to 2 hours

after eating. Some people test after 1 hour. I think it is whatever you prefer

doing.

Hi Sandy,

I'm glad you have an appointment with a new educator. Hopefully, with the

two of you working together, you'll be able to come off meds.

Hello All,

I just thought I would send out a hello to everyone. I hope 2007 has started out

on a good note for everyone. My children and I have been sick for the past

month. My daughter is getting better and hopefully my son is too but it is

difficult to get his meds into him so only time, and his follow-up appointment

next week will tell. I have been on an antibiotic for a severe sinus infection.

That is the only part of me that feels okay at this point in time. I can't seem

to get rid of this nauseous/always feeling hungry feeling that I have had for

months now. I am in so much pain right now with tingling throughout most of my

body. Can't stand it anymore. I guess it is time to go back to the doctor again.

On a positive note...my 5 1/2 yr. old son is finally beginning to say some

words. He is profoundly deaf and has a cochlear implant. His first one failed

and he was reimplanted in November. He was able to hear again on Dec. 7th.

Hope you are all doing well.
