The process is called soponification. Thats when a chemical

reaction of the lye, water and oil mix. Turns from that to

soap. Its very gentle on the skin. You must let the soap 'set'

for about a month to cure, which means letting excess water

evaporate to harden and finish the up the chemical reaction.

Soap made with olive oil is the most gentlist soap called Castille soap.

There is no " lye " in the end product if made correctly.

I make hot process soap, and there is no cure time for that. Also, there

should be no " lye " left in the soap after it " sets " . I do let my cold

process cure for at least a month, but that is just because it needs to let

the water evaporate. My hot process is used within the first week... (yes I

use ph strips)

One combo I like is Patchouli, rose and rain water (scent), in that

order: Mostly Patchouli and rain water the least. I like to descibe it

as smelling like a freshly turned grave in the morning. =P However, it

is a nice combo.

How about just freshly turned soil in the morning instead of a

grave? hahahaha
