Susie, not a clue but your comment about the hair roots rung a bell with me.

That's how I feel when I'm reacting to a hair product....

it, but I can tell from their pictures and from memory) and they also

I am crossing fingers that when you say " had " , you meant they got over it??

Am I just pipe dreaming here? Or was it " had " in that they are no longer

living?

Well, The Acne cea Chapter - has the link posted - says so. It

says the mean time to have rosacea is 9 - 13 years. Operative word there is

mean. Some have it longer, some shorter. And you can see people who have

had rosacea and are now okay - you can use the veins or nose sometimes but

the redness is completely gone. Mostly older folks.

Susie, That used to happen to me too. My scalp doesn't feel a little

spongy/sensitive anymore like it used to. I haven't had it in a long time

though. I don't see why your scalp wouldn't swell. My dad is bald and has

rosacea. His scalp does turn red from time to time. If your blood rushes

there, fluid can leak out of your blood vessels. I have a problem with my face

swelling. I'm taking antihistamines and Tagamet to calm the swelling down. If

you have problems breathing when you exercise, you might have exercise-induced

asthma. I have a friend who has that. She cannot exercise at all. She told me

her face swells and turns really red if she does move around too much.

Take care! Matija

I'm sorry to say that I really don't know if they got over it. The

only one that I would be real familiar with is my father and " if " he

got over it, I'm sad to say that I don't know. He might have gotten

over the inflammation part of it. I'll ask my mother. He still had

the broken blood vessels. Also, he was a farmer which might have

contributed to it (the sun). He also had skin cancer. Unfortunately,

he and all 7 of his brothers and sisters are now deceased.

My brother has it worse than I remember any of my father's siblings.

The good news for you is that you have a forum in which to compare

notes and discover solutions. I found a solution on the menopause

newsgroup that greatly improved the quality of my life.

I am using metrocream and it doesn't seem to be helping much. It may

be keeping it at bay, however. I need to decide where to start with

all I have learned from this group. The main thing I use now that

seems to help the drying effect is Shishedo's day time & night time

moisturizers. The night cream costs about $65 a bottle, but it lasts

me for about 9 months. I was using a softening liquid of theirs, but

it has alcohol in it so I stopped using it. The day time mositurizer

has a little jojoba in it.

Before I realized I had rosacea, I thought that my redness was caused

by allergies and the broken blood vessels were caused from blowing my

nose.

I'm sorry I haven't offered much here. I'm afraid I pretty much on

the receiving end of information at this point.

Hi Susie,

We're all glad to hear how you are doing. We all share what we've learned,

but we also scream, cry, vent, cheer, and sympathize. Anything you need to

get off your chest is welcome!
