Hi group,

I have three Westies...the mother, father and son. We take them camping

all summer long with us. They are loveable and friendly and and I don't

now what I would do with out them. Hopefully I won't develop and

allergies involving them. But I greatly think they help. Mine know my

moods and when I'm tired.

oh I have for soon to be five cats. One of them who is kind of a loner and at the same time a love bug loves to cuttle me when I am not well as I am yesterday and today. She comes up lies against my aching writhing ovaries. The heat and her being there eases the pain a lot more then any thing else. and she is 12 pounds so lots of cat. No amount of pain meds are helping and I am just thanking god for my cats. The others come wash my face or lye on my head. And my dog will lick my face and come love on me to. I would not be alive if it were not for my cats and dogs. There the thing that get me threw the day. And my husband is a wonderful man too. He is there to help me in and out of bed and get me food or any thing else I need. Foot rubs and running hot baths are a must. . But there is just some thing about the warmth and love of my cats.

Hey there,

I also have 2 cats. Frasier and Niles, Both were rescued from the pound and have been wonderful for me. If I am not feeling well or depressed or whatever, Frasier will lay across my chest. Some people think that is a cat trying to heal you.

I am a long time pet owner We now share our home with two little dogs. Willy is 5lbs and is a small make Maltese 3yrs old and Princess is a 10 lbs fox coloured female Pomeraniam who is 10yrs old. I couldn't do without them. I hug them when I'm happy and cry on them when I am sad. Willy knows to snuggle close and keep me warm (all 5lbs if him) when I can't get out of bed. Neither judge me or pity me. We just are there for each other without much understanding of why .....just because we love...just because Who could ask for more OK...OK....I wish Willy wouldn't rip every kleenex in sight into a billion pieces LOL!!! but

other than that it's all good. Kellie Ross wrote: Hi all!, Just out of curiousity, how many fibro. people out there have animals, and do they help in dealing with pain. it can be with enthusiastic bigger dogs. Hard to take the jumping and the scratches. Kellie If logic tells us that life is a meaningless accident, don't give up on life, give up on logic. Hello all I own a few critters and they help me get through a lot of pain just being here for me to pet, talk and love. Champs is a one year spaniel mix, Diablo is a boxer, my black cat Spooky, then two hamsters Ricki and Nicki (teddy bear ones) and Zaya my one year old iguana. Animals have time and time shown to help anyone ill feel better and relax more. I do so miss horse back riding. Horses are my favorite animal. Christie -- Re: Who else? pretty close to me then.I feel animals can really be comforting when

you are ill.My cat Murray sticks to me like glue on those days.I

really don't think I could get through this without them.

I love, love, love my pets! I have a 13yo cat, 11 mtho cat, 9yo dog,

and my special love is 6yo dog. I love them all the same, however,

the 6yo dog, Vennie (a Maltese) actually saved my life! I know it

sounds hokey but it is true.

The story goes...I was laying on the couch napping and my husband

was in the bedroom napping. At the time I was on Fentyl patches and

the suckers. Well, the dose had begun to build up in my system and

became toxic. I went in to a seizure. My little Vennie went in and

started barking at my husband and running back to me. He couldn't

get up on the bed because we have one of those 2' thick mattresses.

He finally woke my husband up. He kept telling him to " be quiet " but

Vennie wouldn't and kept running in to the living room to me.

Finally my husband got up and followed up. He found me and it

TOTALLY freaked him out. I've never had a siezure before. He called

911 and when the paramedics arrived my temp was 107.5!! They said I

finally stopped siezing and actually sat up and looked at them but

wouldn't respond. The only thing I remember is waking up to find my

husband pale white and four paramedics saying my name over and over.

They and the doctors were sure that I would have at least some brain

damage from the temp but it doesn't appear so. If Vennie hadn't woke

my dh up God only knows what would have happened. The doctors said I

probably would have died or stroked out!

So that's the story. I love them all and they have been my sanity in

this insane battle, however, how can I not favor little Vennie even

just a little?!?!

Great topic!

My Mom has an Amazon parrot that she got when I was first sick and before I knew exactly what was going on. That parrot got me through more stuff. Now, I am living with my husband and we are going to get a cockatiel. He is wary around big birds. I taught the Amazon to say "You wanna play?!" His eyes change colors and when he is being sweet and not wound up he makes the cutest clucking sounds. He also says :"Hello," in the most charming voice he can muster to get treats. I don't know what I would have done those first few months without that bird. cbdamstrom wrote: I love, love, love my pets! I have a 13yo cat, 11 mtho cat, 9yo dog, and my special love is 6yo dog.
