Guest guest
I apoligize. I am also wondering if I sent that intro during one of my ISPs system burps where nothing was getting in or out right. Comcast used to go thru @ home for email and when they went under they switched over to their own stuff and " do it all " now. We still have technically difficulties every so often. Email coming in but not going out, saying web pages that you put don't exist when they do, etc. It has been a very long day for me. I really try not to vent or complain to anyone about it. Everyone has their own problems to deal with and so forth. For the record, we have 7 kids all 8 and under. 5 girls, 2 boys... Atlanta (typical mouthy moody NT 8 year old...will be 9 next month) Savannah (AS/HF ASD depending on which report you read from the same dr. He hates lables and doesn't like to use them for anything....will be 8 in Sept.) Cherokee (7 in Oct ~ self proclaimed weird-o) Sierra (5, I believe that she has ASD) Cheyenne (will be 4 in Aug...practically non-verbal. Just decided that about four months ago talking might be a good idea and you can only understand 25% of what she says IF you are used to listening to her, something else going on there as well...not sure what...any stress starts her spinning and/or jumping and chewing on her clothes sort of like an OCD problem but not as severe) Dakota (3 in Dec. Typical boy...going thru the terrible twos) Dalton (will be 2 in Jan. The other boy in the family who's only three words are Kitty, Here and Tag...as you can see Mommy and Daddy are real important) Anyway, it has been a very bad month and a half here...we had to move, our ex-landlord is a dork (don't want to get into that ~ being nice here), just this last week have had a ton of problems out of Savannah and Sierra...all those " you upset my lifecycle by taking away the TV " AS things. I didnt sleep last night after reading that article... And...well...you get the idea I apoligize again. ~ Georga ~ Where to find me on the web: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jorghahaq/IKVGrethor.htm Usborne Books: www.ubah.com/F1549 Register to win $50 in free books! Re: Might be OT: Autism Georga.... I am sorry if I offended you, that was not my intent. I had not seen your intro, perhaps I missed it, but I had never in the close to a year I have belonged to this list seen your name or email addy in the posts, and I was not sure who you were. I post and read messages on a daily basis, and was unfamiliar with you. The article was very helpful, I read it. Thank you for the time involved. I had a very hard time getting as far as I have in my son's DX, but we still have a ways to go, and maybe the info in the article would help. I think you did, however respond rather rudely and harshly to me. You do not post regularly, and with 270+ members, you cannot expect all of us to remember everyone who sends an intro and doesn't post again except for rarely. So, please forgive me if I offended you, that was not my intent, but could have been far more pleasant in your response. " Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant. Guest guest
Georga, Your intro did never come through. It could have been your ISP, or it could have been yahoo -- things are appearing on the list today that I sent 16 days ago. Glad to see you jump in. (she joined about 2 weeks ago, guys!) Guest guest
Penny said exactly what I was thinking. Welcome to the list, Georga. Tuna RE: Might be OT: Autism Georga - I think, as been pointed out very recently here, that this group is for people who live with Autism on a daily basis. We share our likes, dislikes, fears, joys, pain, happiness....everything that goes with dealing with and caring for an Autistic child. Yes, we do get a little defensive when we get posts that seem " out of nowhere " . Like I mentioned in a previous post, I filter all of my parenting_autism mail. Anything sent SPECIFICALLY to parenting_autism goes into a designated foler. I received your post in my general inbox, which flags to me that the message is mass mailed or sent to a myriad of lists. We do care about you and your family. We DO care that you are dealing with what we deal with. Understand that we can't tell, if you only post once in a blue moon, that you are not just lurking and out to promote your agenda. If you have an important message, we would LOVE to hear it. If you are just here to lurk, that's ok too! We don't want to discourage you from posting and we certainly would like to welcome you. We're here to listen. 7 kids is amazing; in fact you may be the mom with the most kids on this list. Jump in anytime hon. Tuna For the record, we have 7 kids all 8 and under. 5 girls, 2 boys... Guest guest
So, Georga, you have beaten out and I with our teeny five kid families! Oh, well. How do you pronounce your name, but the way? Salli
Guest guest
Pronounced the same as the state, Georgia. I remember trying to stop at 5 children. Went to the dr for some pain I was having (thought it was the endometriosis re-occuring), he wanted to do a hysto. Turns out I was seven weeks pregnant. Called the dr. a few months after the baby was born, was going to have a tubal...found out that morning I was pregnant. (those two pregnancies were my two boys.) I tried to stop at 5, honest. ~ Georga ~ Where to find me on the web: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jorghahaq/IKVGrethor.htm Usborne Books: www.ubah.com/F1549 Register to win $50 in free books!
