Guest guest
Hi Musie, Best of luck with your IVF cycle. I also have a UU and went through IVF in September, I am currently 18 weeks pregnant and due in June. My IVF cycle was not as physically hard as I was expecting. It is emotionally hard, but exciting to be finally doing something so aggressive. I had attempted two IUIs prior to my IVF. In my experience, I do not think IVF was any different for someone with a UU vs. someone with a " normal " uterus. Of course the risk of multiples was a concern. I have a high FSH, so I do not stimulate many eggs so multiple was not a big concern for us. I produced 4 eggs, 3 fertilized, and 2 embryos were good enough to implant. I was on lupron, repronex (1 vile), and gonal-f (2 viles) in the AM and PM as well as Progesterone injections daily for 9 weeks after the IVF. For someone who hates shoots, I still can't believe how many I took. When we made the decision to move to IVF I was disappointed that I need to wait almost two months for my cycle prior to the treatments. The wait was not as bad as I originally thought. I took it as an opportunities to get physically and mentally strong. The break seemed to be good for us. I helped to gear us up for the IVF. The procedures were not painful. I was put under for approx. 20 minutes for the egg retrieve. I did feel sore for a few days, but all in all not bad. The transplant was like the IUIs (similar to a pap) only that you need to stay in a position for a length of time. I was so nervous about staying still and not moving that it became a little uncomfortable, but very manageable. Best of luck. If there is anything I can help you with please let me know. Kathy 33, UU 18w 1 d IVF IVF with UU Hello everyone My name is Musie. I am 28yrs old I was diagnosed with UU uterus a couple months ago and was very devastated. After reading some of the messages, I was assured that I will have a child one day. I will be going thru IVF soon. I am currently waiting for my cycle so I can start the bcp for about a month. Can anyone share their experience with IVF who has UU? thanks Musie
Guest guest
Kathy, Thank you so much for your response and encouragement. I wish you all the best with your pregnancy. I have a question, did you have to go on bcp for a month? I am planning on quitting my job if I do get pregnancy in Feb because of my condition. In really don't have to work so I don't want to push it. I stand all day at my job which is not the best position. Are you doing anything different then you use to? I really don't want to take any chances. I have a great feeling that it is going to work( God's hands is in this one). Thanks Musie IVF with UU Hello everyone My name is Musie. Guest guest
Musie, I believe I was on BCP for almost 2 month. Apparently this is protocol for IVF (or at least for My Doctor). I think he gets all of his IVF patients on the same cycle. My doctor had my on couch potato rest for three days, I took a little extra time 4 days plus to transfer day. I thought it could not heard to be safe. I am still working, but I sit all day. I do not exercise. I am afraid to. I can walk, and plan on starting soon, just can't seem to get around to it. We were on sex restriction once my eggs got bigger just before the retrieval and than for almost 9 weeks in to the pregnancy. I guess it is just better to be safe then sorry. Sex can wait! Have your doctors mentioned a cerclage for when you get pregnant? I had one at 11 weeks because my cervix was measuring short and with the UU it is just safer. I have just faith in IVF. You need to try and stay positive as much as possible, it will help you get through the coming weeks. When will your retrieval be? I am thinking of you and have such good thoughts for you. Guest guest
kathy Cavallini and all I had my day 3 blood work today and things look good so far. I just had to share. My FSH was 3.5 and Estrogen was 29.7. The nurse said that these are great numbers. Can anyone elaborate on their experience with IVF with low FSH and how good they responded to the treatment. Guest guest
Musie, congratulations, your numbers sound good. Hopefully you will not need as much meds for stimulations. Hi Musie, I have not been through IVF, but I do have my day 3 labs done every cycle before doing injectables. Your numbers are GREAT! Here is a link that describes the FSH day 3 results: http://www.advancedfertility.com/day3fsh.htm Remember though that each lab has their own *normal range* for this test, so you should check with your dr regarding what his normal range is. However, 3.5 is good in any lab!! Lucky girl! I don't know if the normal range is variable from lab to lab for estrogen, but my RE said that he likes to see it below 50, so you're doing good. Looks like you should be an excellent candidate to respond to the meds for IVF. Good luck!! Sara 35, SU resected, ttc
