Guest guest
My husband just made the switch to Humira and is finally on his way to healing the P. It was sooo bad on the Enbrel, and he was miserable, now I can see the clearing of his skin, and there is light at the end on the tunnel. His PA is bothering him in his shoulder and back, a bit, and will be doing the prednisone this week, but it is doing wonders for the P.>> no side effects..good luck with it. Guest guest
Hi Just wondering if anyone has experience switching from Enbrel to Humira. Had RA 20 years. When I first started taking Enbrel over 6 years ago it was miraculous. On a few occasions I've had to suspend usage - stopping seems to trigger flareups that don't go away - specifically in my elbow and a pain spot in my ankle that happened only during flareups has now settled in on a daily basis. But the degree of pain in these areas, as well as pain all over seems to vary. For a while my elbow was so bad the surgeon recommended replacement. Could barely lift it and I had to learn to be left- handed. The surgeon said the pain was due to a bone on bone, no remaining cartilige situation and not a result of a flareup, therefore I wouldn't have relief without surgery. But then it improved quite bit without surgical intervention. Since then, I've gone through good stretches and bad. My Rheumy doesn't really have any solutions, but suggested I might want to try switching from Enbrel to Humira. At my last check up, my ankle was very swollen and painful as were my wrists, so the doc suggested the switch in drugs. But over the past few months, without the switch, I'm doing better. I'm a bit nervous about changing to a new drug - I don't really like any of these drugs, but suppose I could be open. I only take Enbrel - have tried Methotrex on occasion, but it doesn't agree with me - makes me sick. Thanks.
