I'm Kathy from Klamath Falls, Oregon. I was diagnosed with Type 2 on June 1. What a shock it was for me to find out. My Ac1 was 6.0. Well, I started out gung ho on getting this thing under control and the first couple of weeks went very well with me eating the right kinds of food and walking a lot. Then something happened and I was trying to talk myself out of being a diabetic. I figured the test was wrong and there was no way I had this disease. I live not far from the Pacific Crest Trail and like to pack with my donkeys. Went on a 5 1/2 mile pack trip last Saturday. It is so much fun and doesn't even feel like exercise.
