Hey Frawnee,

so what kind of stuff can I cook in a crock pot.. almost any kind of

meat? I thought about cooking a chicken in the crock pot with veggies.. and

having like a chicken stew.. I just dont know if that would be any good .. bye

Did your crockpot come with a booklet? It should have. There are many

crockpot recipe books out there, too; many of the recs. are a little to

high carb for us, but with a little imagination they can be adapted.

The big mistake a lot of 'newbies' make with crockpots is putting in too

much liquid.

Another great time-saver is a pressure cooker. With my PC I can make a

potroast in 40 min., or a goulash in 20.

You might like to join any of the crockpot or slowcooker groups on the

net. Yahoo has a number such as slowcooker, crockpot_recipes, crockpot-recipes,

etc... Almost any recipe posted can be tweaked for us diabetics. And on most,

if not all, of the groups you can search for specific

recipes from the group homesite.

net. Yahoo has a number such as slowcooker, crockpot_recipes, crockpot-recipes,

etc... Almost any recipe posted can be tweaked for us diabetics. And on most,

if not all, of the groups you can search for specific

recipes from the group homesite.

chicken cacciatore, split pea soup, roast, You should watch Suzanne Sommers

when she comes to HSN and demonstrates her crockpot . She has lots of ideas

for what to cook in a crockpot . NAVVY I love to watch just to get ideas

and yes I did succomb and buy one.sharon

Oh yes--any kind. I use it for roast, round steak, pork, turkey breast,
