Guest guest
Hi guys, I was just bopping around the site and noticed that this week we had our 15,000th message posted!!! As of today, we have 326 members from all over the globe - Australia, the US, Canada, the UK, Italy, France, Austria, Columbia, to mention a few - posting both in English and German (which is SO neat!) We have had husbands, moms, grandmothers and aunts of folks with MA's, in additon to all of us with wacky wombs :-) I guess my point is that each of us had a moment of realization that their body wasn't what they thought, and most have had a doctor tell them they were " rare " . Many of us have been through the lovely experience of hearing, " Wow, would you mind if I get my nurse/student/resident/intern/office staff so they can look at this? " Some have been misdiagnosed, others misinformed and some intmidated. But in this group, we are thrilled to realize we are one of many and are empowered to learn about our bodies and our care. I used to think of my UD as a deformity ... it took me a long time to have that thought fade out of the back of my mind. Someone's husband waaaaaay back called it " redundant harware " and my own dh said, " Honey, you're NOT a mutant, you're a concept wife ... kinda like those concept cars, the ones with three headlights! " <<grin>> So for fifteen thousand messages, we've had laughter, tears and a whole mess of venting. Here's to another fifteen thousand! Thank you to everyone :-) Chomping on celebratory Cheetos in Boston 28, UD
