I just think in a lot of cases people who have never been heavy don't really understand what a heavy person goes through. My sister has been her whole life. Has anyone heard this over and over again? Guest guest
Hi Tazzy, i think that everyone here has heard this a time or two, i actually lost friendships cause they could not handlle the fact that i was having surgery. it is so definite, you will lose weight. If they can not be supportive our they really your friends with your best interest at heart. think about it. Guest guest
Yep, been there done that. It is amazing that no substance abuse counselor would tell their client, simply quit buying cocaine and the problem is solved and then send them on their way. So why is it so easy for everyone to tell us to go on a diet and exercise? Losing weight isn't always the problem, it's maintainence. Not gaining it back is sometimes the real struggle. My sister was not supportive either, but she never said so. She was afraid of long term complications. Of course, she had a normal sized body. I'm not saying she didn't struggle to control her weight, but she was not an addict like I am. She didn't live to eat every minute of every day. Guest guest
Me too. I have complete strangers overhearing my conversations and butting in! It's insane and rude. Do they think I'm stupid? Like I would jump into any surgery without research. Just my 2 cents, Kasie Annette Barras wrote: Yep, been there done that. Guest guest
, Luckily I'm a peace loving gal, or else I would have been. Especially considering everything we have to go through to have this procedure. They act like we just wake up one day and go to the hospital. It's not like buying shoes for goodness sake. Kasie " O. Guest guest
LOL I LOVE shoe shopping!! ;P I know what you mean though. People just DO NOT GET IT!!! It shouldn't, but it astounds me how rude people are and I just don't take it anymore. If somebody is snippy I won't say anything but, if somebody is out right rude and nasty I do say something now. I don't put up with it anymore. Hugs!! > > Hi Everyone, > > I finally told my sister last night that i'm having the > surgery and > > her response was like most i've told.
