Hi , I was on Glyburide for little over a year, but have been off of them since Jan/Feb 2001. I eat what I want, when I want it. My last A1c was 5.08. I am 61 yrs old, but feel about 35. In fact, I have more energy than I did when I was in my 40's. Eunice

Hubby got a little upset that I was out on the road after dark last night, he was just reminding me of the drunk drivers in this area. Next time I go after dark, I'll walk out to our mailbox and back several times. hugs Eunice

Diabetes is well in control and I have someone to share with me my daily life, no matter how looney it gets! & I met late last night/early this morning for one of our spur of the moment pancake attacks. My blood sugar was 115 after we got home. Not bad, considering I had 2 healthy nut pancakes, hash browns 2 eggs, and 2 slices of bacon. Also drank about 5 cups of hot tea. We did go for a midnight stroll after eating. I am sure that helped. We pretty much eat what we want and when we want it, too. Of course, (being Type 1) gets to bolus for his meals. I (being Type 2/no medications) have to exercise! To , who asked about eliminating the pills for Type 2. . . I was on 500mg of Glucophage twice a day when first diagnosed in November 2001. Also took Tricor for high triglycerides, and BP meds. I was taken off all meds in February 2002. All numbers are still great! My HbA1c remains between 5.2 & 5.5 since going off meds. BUT, I have to exercise!! There is no way around it. Rhonda Y. rhonda.yeager@...

Guest guest
LUcky you, Rhonda, I was 393 when we were chatting away around 2 amish. I bolused 5 units, then by 9 amish, I was down to 40. YIKES< and double YIKES! I have been waking up with lows the past week or soish, and so I have to treat them real quick, this keeps me from taking my nexium for my acid reflux. I have to take this one hour before I eat, and if I have to treat a low, I cant take the nexium. grrrrr. though I will ask my GI about this.
