I know how frustrating it is....I went to multiple docs from the time my

period started at 11 until I was diagnosed at 15....and NONE of them saw

anything out of the ordinary. I too had multiple u/s and transvaginal u/s

and nothing was noted except for while in college, a doc at my University

clinic noted " what appears to be a partial vaginal septum " My only

explanation is that many docs have little/no experience with MA's and just

don't know what they are looking at. My clinic always has several " almost

done " residents and I occasionally have talk them through " finding the

other side " and these people know that I am UD and what they are looking

for. My RE showed DH and I how very easy it is to miss the other side with

u/s; just a slight movement of the u/s and you are looking at the other

uterus....but if you aren't well trained, all you see is the first

image. :-) I know, not very comforting news, but it should help to

reassure you that many of us have gotten false " normal " u/s reports, and

reinforce the need for a doc with MA experience/knowledge.

On another note; I went to see my new GP on Friday to make sure my UTI was

gone (which it was) and he was wonderful! He has only been practicing 2-3

years and told me that while he was a resident, he assisted with 2 UD cases

and one was without complications and the other had some minor IUGR that

could have been the result of her extreme young age and other factors

rather than UD. She began as a patient of one of his peers, was very

young, didn't want a baby and opted to terminate the pg. Well, she ended

up as my doc's patient several months later, thinking she was pg again,

but low and behold, she wasn't pg again, she was STILL pg. He diagnosed

her as UD...She had conceived " twins " (one in each uteri) and when the pg

was terminated, the twin in the other uteri went unnoticed.

He was very supportive of my determination to have a child; told me to go

for it and not let myself get discouraged! It was so encouraging to meet a

non-RE or OB with MA knowledge and positive experience!

I hope some of that helped,

D
