All you do is take off the plastic cap and push the button. It is rectal and supposedly works within 5 minutes. It is perscription and very, very expensive but our insurance covers it and I think most do. It has been very effective in stopping Kim's seizures when she is in a cluster. It comes in all different mgs., we use 10mgs. Pam and Kim Need a Quick Answer Hi, I need a quick answer if any one is out there. When your child has clusters of seizures, what do you use to stop them? We used Klonopin years ago, but I read her of Diastat. What other choices are there? Are some better than others? I even got ahold of my neuro in the middle of the night once when I didnt' have one on hand and he phoned one in to a 24 hour pharmacy. The problem is when Bry was really bad the effects dont last as long as drugs. He also recommended Camomile and I think it was skull cap (but dont quote me on that) My naturopath told us that he had a woman whos DH would squirt different herbs in her mouth and was successful at stopping clusters.
