Guest guest
This is great advice and I agree with it first notice if it is several days this happens and if it is you should recheck your hunger signals. I find my body needs three meals a day and for a a person that used to love snacks I find that I don't eat them much anymore. Your body is different then mine though so you should do what you feel is best for you. If I had areally big breakfast (and maybe overate) I usually go for hours withoutgetting hungry. Depends on what I'm doing throughout the day though.I'm far from perfect when it comes to "eating only when hungry" and"stopping when I'm full" but as long as I'm losing weight I don't reallymind that.[1]Check out if it's just one day you're feeling like this or several daysin a row. That's what I would do for now.Another option would be to re-evaluate what you're regarding as "truehunger", but the first one seems easier to me. :-)Regardss.[1] Yes, losing weight is still my main goal, I admit it.------------------------------------

Guest guest
I have some days where I'm not hungry at all and others when I feel like I could eat my left arm right off my body. Sometimes is totally hormones, but other times I believe that it's a result of having been a perpetual dieter for so long. I have trouble hearing my body's signals. I think what you are feeling totally natural. And I think it's not going to hurt you if, every once and a while, you don't eat if you're not hungry. That might help you become more in tune with your body. > > Hi: > > I have been reading through a lot of the posts here and am learning a > lot. How have all of you > dealt with this, if it has happened to you? > Hi , My experience has been like Jennie's. Some days I eat very little, some days I eat a lot! Some days I want a lot of protein, some days I want mostly carbs. I just listen to my body and respond accordingly. If you consider our early ancestors, they probably ate in a similar way. They ate more when food was plentiful, and very little when food was scarce. If they killed a " beast " , they had lots of protein, otherwise, mostly berries or whatever else they could find. I guess the bottom line is that if you have good energy throughout the day and don't feel triggered to binge at night from not eating all day, you could say this is working for you. If you feel it is a problem or not working for you, that is a different matter. If that is the case, let us know and maybe we can come up with some suggestions to help you. Best wishes, B. Guest guest
I have to say, though, that I do feel better when I eat breakfast. So I am going to continue to do it, because I am used to it. But mostly because I have tried both ways, and I feel better when I eat breakfast, not because of anyone else's preaching. That's what I love about IE, I am in control and *I* get to make these decisions. I have come to the same conclusions about certain foods. I totally love sweets, but I am not willing to suffer the consequences of eating them most of the time. If I eat pizza or cake I have to pay a price, I am coming to realize most of the time it is not worth it. Just being AWARE of the consequences is a huge step. For instance, I had one slice of pizza on Sunday. And yesterday shall we say my digestive system was not working properly. So I KNEW that. I also KNEW that the problem would go away and that it would not kill me. I get to go in with my eyes open. And for some reason that has taken the fear of food away from me. I don't even find myself saying " oh you SHOULDN'T HAVE THAT! " . Now it is " if you have that, you will having cravings, you will feel tired, you will get constipated, you will etc etc. " And if I choose to have it anyway, I can live with the consequences. Hope I am making sense here. This is very freeing to me, and quells a lot of my food anxiety which was caused by listening to umpteen different gurus giving me contradictory advice. Guest guest
Kip: YES! And looking at it that way takes all the deprivation feelings out the way. It is like going from a child to an adult in your thinking , something that, at the ripe old age of 46, I am just learning to do!! > > > Subject: Re: What if you never get hungry? > To: IntuitiveEating_Support > Received: Wednesday, July 16, 2008, 7:03 AM > > > > > > > I have to say, though, that I do feel better when I eat breakfast.
