Guest guest
Does anyone here (, , maybe) know of, or know how to go about finding a holistic or naturally minded psychiatrist? No.. it's not for me, my 7 yr old seriously mentally ill step-daughter was admitted to the behavioral health hospital on Friday night and I am entirely unhappy with the care she is receiving from her regular psychiatrist. We've been seeing her regular psych. for several months, and I've never been particularly impressed with her.. because she refuses to consider the research and experimenting I've done regarding step daughter's illnesses. I have positive behavioral proof that stepdaughter is reactive to several foods, but this psych refuses to consider my findings as valid. I called her on Friday because I think the kid needs a med change, and all she did was admit her to the hospital .. along with the bipolar disorder the kid has RAD as well.. which translates into .. " her behavior is *perfect* for strangers, while she completely refuses to follow simple rules at home, and she treats those she loves with violent outbursts. So.. changing her environment, while it gives us all a break, does NOTHING to help my stepdaughter. So.. I'm shopping for a new psychiatrist for her. .. you're close to me.. Do you know of anyone either in Ne or Iowa who might be able to help, or even refer us? Anybody else have ideas for locating a holistic, open-minded psychiatrist? ... besides, the phone book, and Google.. BTDT.. I've talked to her counselor, too.. but, while he seems open minded, he also doesn't know anyone he thinks fits my requirements. Thanks..
