I guess they must be rosacea related and they seem to go away in several days. If it doesn't go away, start your oral antibiotic or increase dosage if you are already taking it and this should hopefully help. I've had a hives breakout around my eyes as well. Mine went away with time. I hope your spots disappear soon. Guest guest Posted April 11, 1999 Report Share Posted April 11, 1999 I know I posted something about this in the past, but I am now getting these odd red spots around my eyes. They look very red almost like round blood vessels. I wonder what these are and whether or not they have something to do with ocular rosacea. Yesterday my eyes were really bothering me and today I woke up with one. These don't look like pimples or regular bumps instead they are very red. Has anyone else had this happen and what can be done about it? I get so depressed when I wake up and find these spots. Also, does anyone know if birth control pills can cause these red spots? I am also wondering if the birth control pills can make the rosacea worse? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated as these spots are very upsetting to me.
