You should check with your GP. An extremely mouth and dry eyes are both

symptoms of Sjorben's Syndrome. They can test for it.

I don't know about the dry mouth. But, my ocular rosacea actually started while

I was on tetracycline for rosacea(which is supposed to be good for ocular

rosacea of all things). So maybe once you have rosacea antibiotics can further

change the flora on your face or the oil production for that matter and " kick "

the ocular rosacea into being. I don't know. Just a theory.

By the way, unless my computer is having the mechanical equivalent of a mental

breakdown, and bouncing things back in some weird way, some posts have appeared

with my screen name on them but they were not from me. I am neither " " nor

the man with the beard. Weird.

type, tetracycline, I started experiencing " extremely " dry mouth. I'd wake up

at night and could hardly swallow and had to constantly drink water. It got to

the point where my mouth was uncomfortable dry. I looked at the " common side

effects leaflet " and saw nothing there about dry mouth. I called the pharmacy

and they'd never heard of anything like that. I called my derm and he changed

me to erthymycin. The dry mouth is not as bad now, but now my eyes are getting

dry too to the point of waking up during the night and not being able to " open "

them because of the dryness! Opthamalogist confirmed they are dry and noted

that I do have the ocular rosacea. Could any of this dryness be related to the

antibiotics even though it's not a common side effect? I'm sitting here

" flushing " just thinking about having posed so many different things to the list

this morning!!! Or perhaps the auto-immune things!

going on in my body are starting to elevate? Wonder if the antibiotics could

be causing auto-immune diseases to cause more symptoms? Any input?

Hi to you all

When I finally get to sleep at night and when I wake 3 or more times

in the night. I wake up with a dry mouth.

I am not sure if I am snoring or sleeping with my mouth open or what

it is. I do not have a partner who can help me with this. I only

have my mum at home. And she needs her sleep. Maybe if she is up

she

could look on at me and see if I am doing either. Maybe it is sleep

apnea. I do not know.

Any suggestions.

Hugs from Kerri in Aussie Land.

Greetings to Kerri in Ausie!

It might be sleep apnea. The best way to check it would be to take a nap

where you mum could check on you. Have her listen for heavy snoring,

gasping, times when you startle awake, sudden snorts, etc. Any of these

might indicate sleep apnea. From there, the next step is to go see a sleep

specialist (probably with a referral from your GP).

Regards,
