When making smoothies with apples, do you include the peeling?

Hi Bernie,

Personally I do include the peelings when making smoothies with

apples.

I have a juicer and a blender, and depending on what I'm drinking I

use one or the other or both.

With the juicer I usually include a variety of vegetables with an

apple and sometimes carrot to sweeten the juice drink. It doesn't

taste that good in my opinion, but is obviously healthy. For this

particular drink, since it is not too tasty already, I would not

recommend adding supplements or greens mixes, as I really think it

tastes pretty bad enough as it is.

With the blender, I make fruit smoothies. For example, one of my

favorites is a variety of berries with apple juice and banana. I make

the apple juice in the juicer and then put that apple juice and the

fruits into the blender. This tastes very good and is thick and sweet

and hides the taste of supplements well. However, I assume this drink

feeds candida moreso than the drink described above.

If you have a Whole Foods near you, they have a juice bar where the

employees freshly juice veggies and fruits--sometimes using a blender

and sometimes a juicer (or both) depending on what the customer

orders. It may be worth checking out their recipes and even asking

the employees who work the juice bars some questions. They show the

ingredients on their menus--I know they add spirulina and other

things to some of their drinks.

Hope this helps.
