Stuck I just have to share this with someone ..I am so sore from laughing ..we live on a dead end street ..so the trash men go down the street and I hear the bell when they startbacking up ..I wait (reason being because I need to correct the dogs from barking atthem) ..and no trash truck ..I thought .. man .. they sure must have a lot of garbage down the street..well after 5 minutes, my curiosity gets the better of me..I walk out the front door .. and our street is completely blocked..apparently the driver could not manuever the truck backwards all the waydown the street ..so .. he decided to do a 3 point turn ..he is now stuck between a tree on one side of the street ..and my neighbor's pickup on the other ...my neighbor is NOT home .. lol .. he doesnt drive his truck to work.If the trash truck backs up any more .. it will hit the truck ..and it cant go forward as the front bumper is stuck on the tree.Oh man .. this is great!!just had to share.."The LUPIES Store" Come check out our store...http://www.cafepress.com/thelupies"The LUPIES Web Page"http://www.itzarion.com/lupusgroup.html"The LUPIES online photo albums!" When I came back, two cars had me blocked in with maybe an inch spare in the back and in the front. It took me about 20 minutes to get out of that tight spot and an older guy stood there watching all that time. I didn't mind having to go back & forth, back & forth, but I sure did mind the guy watching. I would have killed him if he laughed. On the other hand, I was using my hubby's car one day and was bringing the boys back home from some activity. I stopped at a convenience store and I locked my kids in the car. I always do that for safety. Coming back, my oldest opened the door from the inside. Well, the alarm went off and I didn't have the pilot to kill it. It kept going and going and all I could do was sit there and wait for it to stop. There was a guy smoking a cigarette and he tried to be as serious as possible, but finally as he was walking to his car parked next to mine, he gave me a grin. I just looked at him and said out loud " don't you dare " through the open window. He started laughing and I told him it was enough that I had to hide under the steering wheel. He said it was good that at least I could laugh about it. I have a few other funny stories, but not for now. Guest guest Posted November 6, 2003 Report Share Posted November 6, 2003 Well, I told you all today about the trash truck that got stuck catty-wumped across our street .. well, a police officer with a jimmy opened my neighbor's truck .. the alarm went off, but he put the truck in neutral .. and the two trash men and the officer pushed the truck down the street out of the way. The trash truck driver then finished backing up .. and was able to turn around. Then they pushed my neighbor's truck back in place. The whole time the truck's alarm is going off. What a fiasco! .. but funny .. and I didnt even think about my camera until it was all over! Oh well .. it was an interesting morning for sure.
