Strange DR.visit///// long

Hi all,,,,,I went to my rhuemy yesterday. Had a 3:45 appt. so did

someone else. Waited for1 1/2 hrs. to get to back rooms. Dr. came in

and was like in a daze. Asked how I felt and I told him. Telling him

my hands seem to be giving me more trouble than anything lately. He

checked them and I have a ganglion cyst on each wrist, but no problem

with them. He vaguely did a tender point check, listened to my lungs

and asked if I had asthma (I was wheezing pretty good) then asked about

my sleeping..........I told him I get to sleep but can't stay asleep.

He told me to take the sonota and gave me sample of zolloft to try

because I can't shut my brain off, it is always going and I can't relax.

I told him I took sonota a few times but only if I hadn't slept at all

and he said take it every night,,,,,,he has patients who have taken it

for years !!!!!!! Warning label says take for 7-10 days only....he names

a few other drugs and said the same about them. All should be taken for

only a short period of time. He was not in the least worried about

someone getting addicted. It just made me wonder. He also gave me

samples of the vioxx 50mg. because I told him I rationed them and took

them only when I really hurt. So he said if I only took them every 3

or4 days I could take the higher dose. Then he said the drug reps gave

him alot of samples (almost as if saying he had too many of the 50mg, so

here, take them) If I need anything else I just have to call and he

will call in a rx.......but this whole time he's acting 'spacey'. He

specializes in rhuem, arth. and pain management, Wonder if he is on

stuff himself? As for the antidepressant, it is up to me to decide if I

want to try them to help with sleep. I go back in 3 months. Seems with

all these types of drugs you would want to be under closer

supervision.........just my take on things, but...

My girlfriend came to his office and waited with me (what fun for her,

haha) but afterwards we went to a chinese buffet and ate and then went

to see her grandson who is two.......that kid is so smart, he talks and

understands everything you say. He knows all his colors, and numbers

up to 100 and uses words a two year old usualy doesn't know......very

smart little boy. And very personable. So that was the aftersoon in

the life of Jan........
