Guest guest
I suffer from sinusitis, too, and my rosacea gets worse when I have to blow my nose a lot. Tell us about the evening primrose oil and biotin. Where did you learn about these, and how do you use them? Guest guest
Hi Cory, I have major sinus problems. Have had one surgery already, which helped for about a year or so. I dont know if the sinuses make the rosacea/seb derm any worse for me since I started having the sinus problems way before the skin problems. I have tried Evening of Primrose Oil and take Biotin daily. I dont know if it makes a difference, but I know a few people who have psoriasis that swear by Evening of Primrose Oil saying that they feel it cleared them up dramatically. One of the vitamin books that I have states that the cis-linoleic and linoleic acid that is in Evening of Primrose Oil can produce/or be converted into pro -inflammatory effects.( although it also states that theyve done studies where it has helped to relieve eczema and atopic dermititis ).I was just reading another post here where one member of this group ,Cathie, had her breasts swell after taking it. That might be the reason why.I dont know, the more you look into these things the more confusing it can become! I take the omega 3 oils like Flax seed or Fish oil just in case of the inflammation theory. The book does state that combining the two essential fatty acids could be benificial and to play around with each to see which one works for you.(like take one for one month and then switch to the other, or combine the two). I keep hoping that these oils kick in and cut down on some of this damn itching.I do feel that the fish oil capsules are helping to keep my skin from not being so dry. Guest guest
I have chronic sinus problems, too. I also get a lot of nosebleeds. The allergist says my blood vessels are too close to the surface inside my nose and rupture easily. I've not noticed if it has any effect on my rosacea. It seems during the winter my face stays red no matter what I do. :-( It seems to me I've inherited most all the same ills that my dear mother suffers from as well. ~Deborah ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guest guest
i find evening primrose oil very helpful, i take a capsule morning and night. i notice my skin feels more elastic and supple when i'm using it, and i do believe it helps a bit with inflammation. i also have sinus trouble. i don't know what terminology to use in describing it, but i generally have to keep kleenex in my pocket! brian -----== Sent via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/ Easy access to 50,000+ discussion forums ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guest guest
I have noticed that rosacea gets worse with sinus problems. I have had a sinus problem since November which has been resisting antibiotics. I went to an ear, nose and throat specialist this past Wed. and he scheduled me for an MRI next Monday so that he can determine the course of treatment. I'm sure that whatever course of treatment he comes up with will just make my rosacea worse. Just wanted to let you know that you are not alone re sinus and rosacea.corym@... Guest guest
Hi : I also have had a miserable time this winter with chronic sinus problems and rosacea. I wonder if somehow they are tied together. Can't get an answer from doctors since each one has their own specialty. I also tried evening primrose oil and have had no luck.
