Guest guest
Joyce, I have cried, super angry, want to kill someone, want to fight, want to run away, and so many other emotions that I feel are due to PREDNISONE and it is hard to explain how it affects me. O feel in even makes me feel suicidal at time and say why prolong the inevitable and Go through the pain, suffering and agony you put others through not to mention the cost in dollars. Guest guest
Steve and Prednisone If I ever were to go on Prednisone, I would be under the regular treatment of a psychiatrist and my counselor (at least three times a week initially with her for it). They can help balance the effects it has on mood, both through medications and counseling. I think the prescription for prednisone should come with a mental health and a nutrition/diet appointment at the very least. Now, I know some don't need that help, but I sure would. > > > > > > > > I got your info about the pillow and am checking with Vickie on > > >whether we > > > > have money for it. Looks promising. Guest guest
Joe, Prednisone is a horrid drug, but has turned things around for me more than once. It does really play with my head, though. I am not a nice person when the dosage gets turned up. I can even understand "suicidal," but Joe, don't even think of going down that road. You would be whittling off God's end of the stick! He may allow some suffering along the way, but he has a purpose for each of us. My prayers for you and your lady. Hugs, Joyce D. > > > > > > > > I got your info about the pillow and am checking with Vickie on > > >whether we > > > > have money for it. Looks promising. Guest guest
Mornin' Steve....I sign off early in the evenings so the next morning I have to still catch up on yesterdays posts as I am this morning. I'll catch all of your posts in this one....... Reading about your medical/ins and Vickie making too much....I know what it is to face that! Our medical/ins. prems drove us into subsidized housing and of course next year the prems go up again and then we have to shop around again for something less. Oregon has the Health Plan but one has to be nearly homeless to qualify....does WA have any plan that can help you? Probably not...If Vicki makes "too much money" then you, like I, will fall through the cracks! Our income is very low but too high to qualify for certain 'help'. This stuff just drives me crazy...that so many of us have to deal w/this! Gosh, I'm sorry Steve that you have to deal w/this worry. Mask: What's specifically bothering you about your mask? If it's very old you may/can get a new one. That helps w/air leaks. Have you talked to your o2 provider? They are helpful (Lincare is....who do you have?). Do keep trying. It will make such a difference in how you sleep and how you feel in the mornings. I've turned into a real advocate for CPAP and now the pillow too! I used to be 5'9 1/2 and am now less than 5'8!!. I thought my girls (all 6') were getting taller but I'm getting shorter. Ahhh Steve, I think it's nice a man can cry at movies, etc. My husband does too. And, he does most of the cooking. Not fancy, but we eat. I do the cleanup. Z sent me a website for Jumbles but I think it's online only. I'd like to find a book I can carry w/me for medical waiting. Spelling? oh my gosh. I can even spell a word right and it looks wrong! I'm really in trouble. Sometimes w/the Jumble I'll get the word but it 'doesn't 'look right' so I keep working until I finally ask Rich and he spells it like I had it all along! BTW...you're NOT whining. Yes, I'm aware of the places you mention for gathering. This sort of gathered interest just by a 'wish' of mine to meet in our neck of the woods. Until I find out differently, I don't think Kathie or Joy have kids to bring and we don't...do you have children? I think we should find a place other than your home....although thanks for offering it!!! People can come and go as needed/want to and no one has to feel obligated to help w/housework and/or cooking. I suppose all have different sleep habits too. Don't you think that would be easier on everybody? OK...you'll be "60 by then". When is your birthday? There will be a gathering down south by in Sept but I'm not sure we can afford all the expenses to go, so that's still a consideration....I think Kathie said she was going to CA. Since there are a few of you around your area it may be easier if Rich and I drove there...it's only about 3, 4 hrs and we could meet for a visit. Thanks for the info in the database...I'll get to that after this. lol Goodness, you're busy this morning, just reading replies from me! Mama-Sher, age 69. IPF 3-06, OR. Guest guest
Bruce I never suspected prednisone as a cause for anger outbursts, mood swings etc. I am currently going through a low. Don't worry, suicide would never be an option for me. My wife's first husband committed suicide and I promised her I would never do that to her. However light is on the horizon, My first appointment with counselor is on Apr 17. Cruise to Alaska is coming up on May 3. So lots to look forward to.
