Guest guest
Hello all. Thanks for the welcome and the chance to join. I am Ann K. and I have had a diagnosis of FS for about 8 years. I have struggled with this for quite a while with various doctors, all of whom say different things. I was on Celebrex for a while, but had to go off of it due to the warnings. I struggle sometimes. I'm currently in a flare up and have an appointment to see a Rheumatologist tomorrow. I tried the family doc, who prescribed Ketoprophen, but that didn't do much. I don't think he knew much about FS. I'm hoping that the Rheumatologist will. Most of my learning has been off the internet. I'm the one who walked into the family doc with the diagnostics sheet of FS and told him that I had 15 of the 18 points. And my mother has this, and my youngest daughter. He said "well, yes, you probably have it" and that was the end of the discussion. So, he wrote me out the RX for Ketoprophen, and that was the end of that. Here we are again. I don't go to doctors easily. But, today I had to take the day off work to deal with the severe fatique and shoulder pain. I am already planning a trip out to try the Salonpas. If it works, I'm gonna love it. Other than that, I'm a pretty active old lady. I work full time as a social worker. I also sing in a 3 girl band and write children's books (actually, I'm taking classes for this one) and I quilt. I have a hubby of 13 years and 4 cats. I live in Michigan, which is not an FS friendly state, but what do you do? I have 2 grown daughters. I sometimes get very frustrated as my body can't do what my mind wants it to, but that's the reality of this, isn't it? I'm really glad to meet all of you. Ann K.
