Thanksgiving (Thanksliving)

Hi all,

I was dreading Thanksgiving horribly because of the fear of what ifs. What

if my inlaws didn't even notice I have lost almost 70 lbs. and they start the

why did you have surgery scenario. What if the meal is a disaster and I get my

first dumping episode ever. Everything went wonderfully. They did notice and

complimented me almost continuously. They didn't make a big deal about what I

ate or how little the amount was or how un-proportionate my body was (which has

happened by my mother in law everytime I have ever lost weight before) although

there were a few comments after looking at my before pictures about how much

slimmer my face was etc... I just kept pointing out how many inches I had lost

off of my butt, etc... (another good reason to have those measurements handy!)

I think after WLS Thanksgiving should be changed to Thanksliving because I am

thankful most of all that I am alive and happier and healthier than I have been

for years. I have lost almost 70 lbs. (the scales are finally starting to move

after almost six weeks of a plateau) and 39.5 inches over all.

I have noticed some of you are drinking hot chocolate. This is something I

haven't tried yet but as cold as I am all of the time and not being a coffee

drinker I think I might. (Dr. R if you are reading this I realize that hot

chocolate also has caffeine in it and I wouldn't be drinking it continuously or

on a regular basis :.) Have you found any one brand better than the other?I

think I still have some pkgs. of SF Swiss Miss from last winter. Sugar doesn't

bother me as much as it must some of you as I ate a small amount of pumpkin

custard and even a couple of really small slices of lemon meringue pie without

the crust. Also, are most of you still using protein powder sprinkled into

things you can stir them into? I have been but my husband asked me if I thought

maybe adding that to things might have been causing the long plateau of non-wt.

loss. I don't think so and I know how important it is to get in that protein

just thought I would ask.

Hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving (Thanksliving) too!

in Minnesota
