Any comment/advice pls Hi and welcome to the group. Congratulations on getting your bg's (blood glucose) under control, but bigger congratulations for keeping it under control without meds. Are you talking about unborn children and infants? I would think that as children continue to grow, they would be more healthier because you'll probably be more aware of the foods they eat and make the right food choices and exercise plans for them. Visit today! To: mscured Moderator <mscured-owner > Hi, my birthday is july 31st '85 and here is my story...In June of 08 I had optic neuritis and as a result had an MRI done. The MRI showed lesions and they wanted to do a spinal tap but just the day before I had gone to a holistic doctor. So I held off on the spinal tap and told them I wanted another MRI in 6 months. Well 6months later my MRI had good and bad news...some lesions had decreased, other increased, and new ones popped up :-( By that time I got a new neurologist and primary because they were just horrible people, well maybe not horrible people but they lacked bedside manner. The new doctor wants to start me on one of the drugs but I'm in limbo about what I should do...western vs. alternative or maybe even both. I am 23 yrs old and for the first time in my life I have no idea what to do for myself. Usually if there is a problem I go over all the options and choose what is best for me but right now in regards to MS i really don't have a clue. So my neurologist said she would give me 2 to 3 wks to think it over and this thursday i go to a different holisitc doctor who actually had MS and has been symptom free for 14-15 yrs...that's my story...I'm just looking for supprt and hearing the stories of others who have been diagnosed with MS and how they choose what was best for them... Guest guest
Welcome Charisse, Your dilemma looks like no-brainer - a holistic doctor with MS who has been symptom free for 14 - 15 years versus one of the mainstream drugs that may mask symptoms. The drug will probably cause other problems and have you having to get another drug to deal with the side effects. Just my opinion. You'd be best to tackle MS through diet, like a lot of us do here. The Best Bet Diet is helping many. http://www.msrc.co.uk/index.cfm?fuseaction=show & pageid=39 Look through the archives at MS-cured which will give you some ideas of other options. We are all here to answer any questions you might have.
