My son's only MRI (he has a pacemaker now so he can't have further MRI's) was a mess. He has periventricular leukomalasia, demyelin related issues and other stuff I can't even remember. In the words of one developmental pediatrician, he shouldn't be able to walk, talk, feed himself, etc. He has problems globally and has a lot of autonomic issues related to brain involvement, but he is not in a vegetative state. My son has regular CT scans which still show a variety of problems throughout his entire brain. Our focus is on improved treatment because if we can override metabolic abnormalities, then all he has is " just " damage and no further deterioration. There is no way to accurately predict tomorrow based on his MRI. Cheri
