Don't let that nosey and rude coworker get to you. I would have asked "Why are we having this conversation"? I was not as smart as you and told everybody and their brother about my upcoming surgery. Of course, I got a lot of comments but I asked for it by telling. You did not tell nosey so she has no right to comment. Peace, Valarie

I think you did the right thing, just ignor her, change the subject and get

on with it. No one knows what it feels like to be overweight but us that

are overweight. She is just ignorant and someone who thinks they know

everything. I myself was skeptical about this surgery until i researched

and researched and read everything i could. So don't let those types get

you down wait til she sees the outcome and see what she has to say then!!!

Thanks for your support. I was feeling so wrong about having this

procedure. But the truth of it all, is that I have been thinking

about it for 9 years. I even tried to get it done 7 years ago, but

was turned down by insurance. I have been, like most of you, over

wieght for all of my adult life and the majority of my childhood. I

am so ready to make a change it's unreal. I'm so tired of, (like the

person who mentioned the Great America trip), trying to be able to

fit into the amusement park seat or ride, bike, car, table booth at a

resturant, etc. I want to be able to do it without having to think

about it or having to ask to be seated at a table instead of a booth.

You know!?

Thanks again for your comments.

Thanks again, for all of your support. I really appreciate this

group and the comfort that I get from it.

I will try to make an effort to shut her out if she starts acting up

again.

,

The thing I remember most about the first person I met who had

gastric bypass was that she was always smiling. It didn't matter

what she was doing--sitting at her computer at work or walking to the

bathroom--she always grinned. I thought to myself, " I want to be

like that! " Every time you see this idiot woman, make sure to put a

big smile on your face. Your happiness is sure to quiet her

defeatist attitude.

pascha

(If you need help putting a smile on your face, just put a mental

image in your head of a beautiful beach in Hawaii, with you laying on

it, in a size 10 bathing suit! Or, you can imagine me tripping over

a box fan like I did this morning. People tripping over things is

funny.)

You were so smart not to comment to her. It was none of her business what you do, besides a breach of confidentiality reading your personal fax. Just because she may be skinny and supposedly healthy, she has a lot more serious conditions that she can't seem to fix. Rudeness and lack of class. Those things are part of your nature, thank God. Your outward appearance will change but just think, your wonderful personality won't. Poor poor rude human. Cyn
