Guest guest
: I keep a carton of eggs hard boiled so I can always grab one or two running out to work or the beach. They don't call me the pistachio queen for nothing. I used to go through 4 lbs a week, but now I think my office is eating more than I am. Some folks prefer cashew or almonds. Cheese and crackers are handy. I'm with Nina and always throw in a few spoons of good grated Romano or Parmeshan cheese in soup. My fav soup is meat tortillini in chicken broth with lots of cheese on top -- have this for dinner at least once a week when in a hurry, both pre and post op -- used to be able to eat a half lb of torillini in a can of soup. Post-op it would last most of a week. Now it's two meals. Also have been eating shrimp " cocktail " all summer. I buy about 1/2 lb of shrimp over lettuce with cocktail sauce. Usually takes two meals to finish. My usual breakfast is a bacon egg and cheese bisquit at McDs -- although for variety I sometimes get a bagel and put 1/8 lb whitefish salad on it. When you do fast foods post op you will find that you naturally gravitate to the protein, ie. the burger, fish or chicken, as eating most of the french fries or bread will disallow you from eating anything else. Best of luck -- let the surgery do its work too. It's not as hard as it may seem. Jill Sokol, 360 & 5'11, BMI 51 Laparascopic BPD/DS 10/4/1999 with Michel Gagner, MD at Mt.
