Guest guest
Hey kiddo! Yeah, I figured if I made the situation completely uncomfortable, that I would eventually say to myself " self, why are you still smoking when you have to stay outside, and not enjoy the sociability and sit in the dark waiting for the dog to pee?? " It is kind of working I have not craved in awhile and I do not feel deprived either. I just started to take away situations in which it was permissable for me to smoke. Thanks for the kudos, you quit didn't you ???????..................... paige >From: MoShel30@... >Reply-To: MiniGastricBypassonelist >To: MiniGastricBypassonelist >Subject: Re: Smokers? Guest guest
Yes, finally with the help of behavior modification and some Welbutrin! LOL! Rarely, will I try one and I admit that I have on more than one occasion but about 1/4 to 1/2 way through it I think, " Yuck, what I am doing " because it really taste bad now! I did like you though, I made it as uncomfortable as possible to smoke and it really helped. I always sit in nonsmoking areas, nonsmoking hotel rooms, etc. I do not smoke when out with friends. Those things really helped me to cut way down and the Welbutrin seemed to help me the rest of the way. in AL

Guest guest
I had excellent results with the Nicotrol inhaler system; using that, I quit in July and haven't even looked at a cigarette since. The nicotine inhaler really kills 3 birds with one stone--the nicotine 'fix', the habit of having something in your mouth to puff on, and the habit of having something to hold in your hands. Maybe somebody will correct me on this (Dr. R), but I think the big reason to quit smoking before the surgery was that smoking causes stomach acid production, which could cause damage to your new pouch. I know that since I quit smoking I've had a lot less trouble with heartburn. Good luck, Steve
Guest guest
Thank you for the concern Dr R, I am working on. I am down to three cigarettes a day and make as uncomfortable as I can. I am trying to do it by behavior mod instead of meds. I tried once and due to the fact that I have always smoked ultra lites the nicorette made very ill!!!I will tell you though I have always been a light smoker never much over 1/2 pack a day, so hopefully that will help. I also watched what went through and I think that I will be done for the new year totally! Thanks again, Paige > >Reply-To: MiniGastricBypassonelist >To: <MiniGastricBypassonelist> >Subject: RE: Smokers?
