Guest guest
MB, Did you see the pictures I added ? took them and just sent them to me today. I miss you guys. I have slept all afternoon. Sher, Speaking for myself the reason I need O2 and will likely always need O2 with these lungs is the damage already done by existing disease. I have slightly less than 40% total lung capacity. Unless someone finds a way to reverse the damage I will always need O2. NSIP is one of the types of fibrosis that SOMETIMES responds well to corticosteroids (prednisone), mine did. The rather long course of prednisone that I took in 2006 stablized my disease and I've stayed stable since. This is not the case for everyone. I've been very fortunate. There are subtypes of NSIP, fibrotic, cellular and mixed. They believe cellular NSIP is most likely to respond well to prednisone but I THINK they need a biopsy to determine which type you have but I'm not sure of that. Maybe that would be a good question for the doctor... Beth in NC age 48 Fibrotic NSIP 06/06 " For as long as I shall live, I will testify to Love. " Medications. ..
