Guest guest
, it's a lot to take it, but YOU CAN DO IT! Rest, get a massage, try to get in the pool, remember that your body is adjusting every day to the new pregnancy. When you're flaring it's natural to be pessimistic and sad too. Women have taken pred while preg for decades and it's considered to be safe. Why don't you call OTIS and talk to their counselors? They always put my mind at ease when I got nervous. As you know I got a great result taking Enbrel and my little guy turns 1 on Thur and he's hail and hearty. Also remember that your disease is very likely to quiet down as your pg progresses. And don't sweat the meds you took before you knew you were pg, but talk to OTIS if if bothers you. ________________________________ From: burton_rr <burton_rr@...> Sent: Monday, June 22, 2009 11:34:49 AM Subject: [ ] Pregnant and worried.... Hi All... The more time that goes by the more worried I am about being prego with RA...everything happened at once...I found out from my rheumy I have severe RA and the same day confirmed I was pregnant...and also am in pain trying to pass a kidney stone. My rheumy told me my numbers were very high...and explained we are dealing with severe RA and he wants to fight it aggressively. ..but there is not a lot I want to do while prego. This is all so much for me...24 years old...just found out I have aggressive RA....and I am pregnant.... this is supposed to be a happy time in my life...I have been on 20 mg. prednisone since June 10 and starting tomorrow I will be lowering my does by 2.5 mg. every week for 4 weeks until I get down to 10 mg/day of prednisone and then we will see how i feel. I have worried about taking the prednisone while pregnant. I also am worried about the tylenol 3 and tramadol I had been taking before I knew I was pregnant-anyone else take pain pills while prego or before they knew they were prego? I think a lot of me is still grieving about my official RA diagnosis... .I just want to go back to the old me again. - B.-

Guest guest
HI First let me say This is my first post hope Im doing this right. I was Diagnosed with RA while I was Pregnant as well. Almost 10 yrs ago. I was also older when I was diagnosed 35. I had already ben on prednisone and Methotrexae which I continued to take throughout. I suggest that you do your best not to woory about what you have already taken and consentrate on what you can do from this point on. There of course are medications that should not be taken during pregnancy but working with the OBGYN and Rhuemitologist Im sure they will keep things under control. My son was born Fine and is a typical 9 yr old. God Bless you on your pregnancy . Just so you know Even after ten years there are days I still real with the realities of having RA. My Ra was under control for the last 2 yrs no pain I almost forgot i had it (ALMOST) But these last 2 weeks I have had a debilitating flare up. Staying positive though. Francisca (ie) > > Sorry for the confusion. There was someone else who joined the list recently with RA and was hoping to become pregnant. > > My suggestion to you is to have your rheumatologist work hand-in-hand with your OB/GYN. Sometimes RA will go into remission during pregnancy. Hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones! > > > *~ Kami ~* >
