Guest guest
Hi, My son, who will be 6 years old in November, had a g-tube placed and a fundoplication done about 10 days ago. He does not have reflux now, but the fundo. was done more on a preventative basis for the future. Before the surgery he was always constipated. Now, he has been having diarrhea. Is this typical with this surgery? Does it go away and are there any suggestions for helping it go away? He has also been gagging and acting like he has to throw up. I understand with the fundo., vomitting does not usually occur. So, I'm wondering if anyone can explain what this is all about and what's causing it and if there is anything I can do about it? Is this just happening because everything is so new and we can expect it to subside? If anyone has any words of wisdom, suggestions, or comments about the diarrhea and gagging, I would appreciate hearing from you.
