Thanks for writing, ,

I know this is an old mail, I am now having computer problems on top of

everything else, lol! (when it rains, it pours!).

I saw a couple of ophthalmologists as well as my regular optometrist, and

they all said there was nothing wrong with my eye itself. The optometrist

had used one of those computerized laser machines to look inside my eye,

even had some " snapshots " saved on their computer from an exam

I'd had the previous year. The technology allows them to see the entire

inside of the eye, which is really cool to look at (they let me see the

pics). There were no changes at all to the interior of my eye, the retina

looked good, & even the connection to the optic nerve looked good.

The optometrist (who is also an ophthalmologist, but I get my glasses

there & usually see one of his optometrists) said the problem HAD to

be with a specific part of my optic nerve, which controls the vision to

the left portion of the left eye. It's a very small area, & if there

was any pressure there, it could have caused the damage I'm experiencing.

If I'd had an MRI immediately, instead of my doctors hemming & hawing

around for 5 months, they may have been able to pick something up. But,

it took me that long (from the end of October to the middle of March) to

convince my neurologist that there was something wrong. My PCP said it

could have been a mini-stroke or small clot, so small that it dissolved

by the time they did the MRI. I can't go back for another eye exam til

Feb 1 (because of my eye insurance), so I won't know til then if there

have been further changes. If there have been, they're definitely for the

worse. I don't use my left eye much any more, because it's like the left

lens of my glasses is fogged up & it's annoying. I don't wear my

glasses when I read, & I close my left eye so I don't get

" seasick " , lol!

the way Cyn your loss of vision it sounds alot like retina detachment

which could be caused by several things I believe. (stroke, blood

clot ect..)
