Guest guest
yes i do.. i take it three times a day 100.... i started out small and went up to the highest dose allowed. to me i dont think i would be around if it wasnt b/c of this. i have only had 2 flares since i went on this med. i can cause me to get a little sleepy at times-that is the only side effect that i have. wen FYI, 600mg per day is the highest dose. I take 200mg 3 times a day and it isn’t enough but I have above average pain levels the doctors tell me. -Hannah
Guest guest
I have experienced about a 70% reduction in pain. I had a near fatal interaction that landed me in the e.r. last month however. I stopped taking it for weeks because of this. At my primary dr’s urging I started taking it again a few days ago. DO NOT TAKE THIS WITH ANY SLEEPING PILL!!!!! They will not warn you about this at the pharmacy and most dr’s will not warn you about this either. See Lyrica does not make me sleepy like some have written about; at times it makes me feel like I am on crack I am so awake. I sleep about 5-6 hours a night – tops, if I am lucky. I did not get this rx originally from my primary dr. My primary has however begun giving it to all his patients with fibro and has been for the past 4 months. Do your research, make an informed decision. A big con is that druggies have begun crushing this up and snorting it because it gives them a GHB like high. Which is how you may frankly feel the first few days you take it. I have been through the ringer with Lyrica and between my husband and my primary dr I feel like I’ve been fed most of the research out there so feel free to ask me any question you have. And yes you will gain weight, because Lyrica makes you want to eat anything that’s not nailed down for the first few months, however this does level off and becomes manageable. *Hannah* www.starbrightdesigns.net Jewelry & Photos Semi-Precious stones, Crystal & Sterling Silver Hi all, My doctor has started me on Lyrica for my Fibro pain. Still have insomnia sometime though still. *Hannah* www.starbrightdesigns.net Jewelry & Photos Semi-Precious stones, Crystal & Sterling Silver I don't get good and asleep until after my 4am potty break. I always know when I go back to bed that time that I'm going to really sleep. The bad thing is that I have to get up at 5:30 am sooooo there isn't very much sleep. The dr gave me sleeping meds but it takes them HOURS to actually affect me. He told me yesterday to take them at 4pm to be able to sleep by midnight! bev

Guest guest
i hope i dont sound rude... i dont mean to at least. i think the side effect are different for each person and each drug. I am on a sleeping med with this and i still have issues sleeping. so i dont agree with you on that point at all. but i agree that everyone should also read about any type of drug/herb/med that you are taking. i always go home look up what ever i am on and if i have any issues i call my doc or pharm. at one time i was on lyrica, lunseta, and valerian. i still had issues sleeping. i cant take the valerian anymore b/c i had to go on a thryoid med. and just went to web md and looked it up... then i call my doc and asked. i shouldnt be taking the valerian anymore right?? all my doctors and my pharmacy hasnt said anything about the sleeping med and lyrica. and lol my pharmacy is great at checking on things like this. I have never gotten a high at all with this or had the things you talked about... infact i havent had much of any type of side effect from the lyrica it might make me a little drowsy but its hard to tell beeing on other meds at the same time..yes i have had wt gain but my thryoid is wacked and i am also on amitriptlyine... just make sure you doctor says its ok to take with the other meds your on and do some reading. i have to be on a sleeping med or i would never sleep. lol and keeping after my daughter is a job all in itself. lol she is two. wen
Guest guest
Yes my dr's and pharmacy are also very good with checking these things out as well and for more established drugs I will continue to trust them. But Lyrica is a brand new drug so anyone who says they are an expert is dead wrong. Just like it isn't approved for fibro yet, lots to learn about Lyrica. Btw I have Chiari and I also have some of the best neurosurgeons/neurologists in state on my case (NY) and none of them gave me any kind of warning once I told them I was on Lyrica. And yes you are correct each drug affects each person differently. Here's what scared me though, I followed the instructions on each med and herb I took that day. I did not take any extra doses. Btw, valerian was the only herb I took that day. None of my other meds are depressants so this is why we know the valerian is what caused it. My dr. has done extensive research and has found that taking additional depressants can be highly dangerous for your system while on Lyrica since it is itself a depressant. It is not rude to be questioning, it is however rude to basically call my dr a liar. He has saved my life. I have been to over 100+ dr's in my 32 years and he was the 1st to be able to diagnose me. Chiari is something you are born with and not one dr. before him even considered Chiari as the root of all my problems. I am not trying to tell anyone I have the worlds best dr, I am just trying to give you an idea of the level of care and information my dr is working with. I did not have to email this list and try to help/warn others. I nearly died, I thought it would be nice if others had a bit more information to go on then I did prior to my ER visit. Myself? I am going back to having my primary rx everything to me... Also who says you can't take thyroid meds and valerian at the same time? Do you take Armour thyroid or one of those synthetic ones? I take Armour and have found great results with it, much better then with levo or synthroid, and before the Lyrica I could still take valerian. Hard to get your more traditional dr's to rx Armour though. They will give you a bunch of b.s. about it being antiquated. http://www.armourthyroid.com/ *Hannah* www.starbrightdesigns.net Jewelry & Photos Semi-Precious stones, Crystal & Sterling Silver i hope i dont sound rude... i dont mean to at least. i think the side effect are different for each person and each drug. Guest guest
My neurologist, neurosurgeon and primary Dr's all said 600 is the max daily dose. As does my pharmacy too... Maybe it is different in different states? I'm in NY. FYI I weigh 228 but, as of yet there is no different dosing recommendations or limits based on weight. *Hannah* www.starbrightdesigns.net Jewelry & Photos Semi-Precious stones, Crystal & Sterling Silver Yes your right some may have to go up to 600. but its not the recommend max dose. that is 300- maybe my nerou is going by that...with 600 i can see why your doc wouldnt want you on any sleeping meds. i go that info for this site. https://www.lyrica.com/pdf/Lyrica_Fact_Sheet.pdf#search='highest%20dose%20fo r%20lyrica'
Guest guest
Are you on Clonodine? At first this is what they thought caused the interaction. It is given for anxiety among other things. I was given it when I stopped taking Suboxone for pain. I however did not take any of it because valium isn’t strong enough for me except at very high doses. And I went off the Sub. months ago. So withdrawl is not what led to the er trip. *Hannah* www.starbrightdesigns.net Jewelry & Photos Semi-Precious stones, Crystal & Sterling Silver Yes your right some may have to go up to 600. but its not the recommend max dose. that is 300- maybe my nerou is going by that...with 600 i can see why your doc wouldnt want you on any sleeping meds. i go that info for this site. https://www.lyrica.com/pdf/Lyrica_Fact_Sheet.pdf#search='highest%20dose%20for%20lyrica' Here is what i when i first started taking it...thought it could help with some ?'s i am also on something for axiety as well. but its not as strong as valium... i hope this helps someone. wen †
