don't let that stop you. As most insurances exclude anything weight related.

I called mine and asked them and they said if the primary care doctor will

write a letter saying that it is a medical necesity it will be considered.

The letter must be strong and show life or death consequences. Which should

be obvious with all that is printed about over weight dangers. I am still

trying to find a doc to write the letter. Tomorrow I have an appt. with a

specilist that could recommed it to my new pcp, if he will!!!!! Everyone

please pray. If he won't I may have to get up and choke him. My future, he

holds in his hands. in Missouri

Hello ...

And how do you do that? That is - find a PCP who will write this letter to

the insurance company? I saw mine today and he refused, saying he didn't

agree or believe in surgeries " like this " ...What do I do now?

course. So this is round two for me, and I am just going to keep going from

doc to doc until I find one that will open their eyes and see that this is

something I want to do, that I have researched and that will support me in

the follow up!! I don't give up easily. I have had to struggle all my life.

And I don't intend to stop now. How about you?? Ya gotta be tough and it

has taken me a long time to get to this point. But I know what I gotta do to

get where I wanna be!!!! (pre op)

You are awesome Stevie!!! Thank you so much! I actually was being sarcastic

with my friend earlier saying... " what am I supposed to do? call every

doctor in my book?!?!?... " I guess you just answered my question huh? I

start tomorrow!!

I'll keep you posted...

Thanks to Stevie - I was joking around about this, but she said it worked for

her...I actually plan on making alot of phone calls and speaking to the

nurses in the office about whether or not the dr.(s) are suppotive of

surgical weight loss remedies...the only problem with that is I live in

Florida - this time of the year - the " snow birds " are back and taking up all

of the doc's time i.o.w...the nurses and secretaries may be too busy for me

but I intend on giving it a good, long FIGHT!!! I'll keep you posted.

Sherry: I had another thought....when I was looking to get a new PCp a few

years ago who would also allow me to take phen-fen, I called everyone in

the insurance list book and simply asked the nurses if the dr. was

supportive of weight loss. I actually had honest nurses who saved me a lot

of time by saying yes or no to my question and because of this, I found mt

pcp who is a fabulous doctor and lo and behold, when the time came to have

the MGB, she was up for it. She borrowed my binder for a few weeks (I gave

her plenty of time) and actually wanted a copy to show other pateints she

had who were overweight.

Just keep trying sweeite..it will work out!
