Harper,

I have no pain, but do have that almost constant need to go. Then it

just gushes sometimes. Pads help, thank God for them. I have had

this problem since my hysterectomy when they also raised my bladder,

as it was tipped. During my recovery I felt something tear inside.

Told the dr. that did the bladder repair and he told me that couldn't

happen, so I have been dealing with it myself.

Thanks for the info,

Joanna in WA state

Very close, D-Mannose. A web search will lead to lots of info.

Awhile back someone listed the name of something for bladder

problems like D mannos or something????

Please enlighten me on the real name...I'm sure this is wrong.

Thanks,

I didn't get outright infections, but did get a lot of cystitis symptoms while I had the bladder problems, which I presume were to do with never emptying my bladder properly. It won't fix it, but perhaps drinking cranberry juice would at least help? I know sometimes the relief from discomfort it gave me seemed about the only thing that was maintaining my sanity!

I'm glad you had a good shopping experience :o)

Hi Carol....

You might want to Google the terms " pudental nerve entrapment " and

" pelvic floor. "

Also try " pudendal nerve entrapment " as it seems to be referred to by both spellings.

Before my revision surgery I had a lot of bladder issues, depending on the kind of pain, I either couldn't go, or I couldn't get relief, or I just plain didn't have the faintest idea whether I needed to go or not etc. The odd thing is that it was only my L2-3 and possibly L4-5 discs that were implicated which as far as I can gather should be too high up. I got all sorts of odd pains though - such as a burning pain on the front of my right hip bone - the bit that sticks out (if you're skinny enough, unlike me ;o) - that was just excruciating. Some of it is acting up again a little now that the stenosis is becoming a literal pain, but I don't know to what extent my body is just weird - considering I managed to have so many bladder and bowel issues and have them just go away with the surgery it seems it is at least moderately.

I hope you can get some relief with this. The only other thing that occurs to me is that if some of it is bladder issues, it could be worth looking into interstitial cystitis, or painful bladder syndrome. It is quite variable in symptoms and would not necessarily cause it to burn when you wee. One of the links I glanced at for nerve entrapment says it is often misdiagnosed as interstitial cystitis, so researching around the subject could be a good move. I hope I haven't confused the issue further :o(

Four times this week, upon feeling the sensation to urinate, I got up to walk

about 15ft to the bathroom and began to urinate before I got there.

Here's something else peculiar, I can remember numbers and dates fine but when

I go to write them or dial them, they are flipped around. Example, 4927 becomes

2749 and 745 becomes 754. Year of birth, I would put 06, present year, 61.

Typing, I go to type third finger left hand but type third finger right hand. I

know the correct answer but write something different. I am wondering if cord

compression and spinal fluid are affecting my brain.

Rene,

I didn't experience that sort of problem. For me, it was I would be sitting

on the sofa or on a chaier and for no reason i would wet myself. And I didn

t even know it. I was losing control of my bladder function. That was when

my orthopedic surgeon that I was going to for PT said something was

definately wrong and I needed to have surgery asap. I was rushed to a

hospital in Columbus Ohio and underwent emergency surgery. They ended up

taking two discs out, then I had another one removed a month later then I

had the fusion. But it could be the beginnings of losing control of your

bladder. I would definately mention this to your doctor. If I hadn't, I may

not be here now.

I don't know if this has something to do with but i'll try to

exsplain to the best I know.

When I go to the bathroom to do number 1 and then I leave to go do

something in the house then all of a sudden I have to go back to the

bathroom to do number 2. I get fustraited b/c I was just in the

bathroom. Know is that related to that also?

I have had cloudy urine and irritated bladder come on out of the blue several

times in the past 2 1/2 years and I never had a UTI (urinary tract infection)

prior to this. Someone suggested D-Mannose, a natural supplement, to help with

this. I keep a bottle onhand when the irritation strikes.

Dear Kate..... twice on other Lyme protocols I have developed a UTI as well and

wondered exactly the same thing... do hormones play a role? My hunch was also

that I was eliminating bugs and they were vacating my body via gut and

bladder...... (as a younger woman UTI's were very common). My LLMD ran a course

of Bactrim DS for two weeks on me and it did such a wonderful clean-up.. I think

it is one of the best Lyme ABX out there and It was OK to continue herbal

program throughout treatment.

I also was not drinking enough water (coffee doesn't count) and sometimes I

think I was not emptying my bladder fully because of the new menopausal

changes.... hope this helps J

Hello Kate,

For irritated bladder and/or frequent urination, I recommend Cran-Aid tea by

Traditional Medicinals.

I always go to herbs first for an ailment but I expect that they will take time

to heal. This tea is amazing.

I was urinating - literally - every 30 minutes, at times. Definitely a sign that

something was wrong, but I didn't have an UTI, and no pain.

Sure does keep you close to home!

This tea has changed that completely. I said to my Qi Gong healer how surprised

I was that one cup changed my condition, and maybe it is coincidence and not the

tea.

She thought that I had had an inflamed or irritated or sensitive bladder, and

that the tea soothed it.

Whatever, I now drink the tea at least one cup a day, and it is also very tasty.

Lyme and co's get into bladder and cause this irritation and pee problem. I

only experienced this when I was killing it off in that area, and it went away

on its own. But yeah, sucked!

Many thanks for your suggestions - I will see what my LLMD says in a few weeks,

but it might be worthy trying an ABx on top of the herbs. I also wonder if I

should be pushing for a scan - anyone had any experience of this?

Hi,

When the bacteria die-off occurs, ammonia is the by-product and it burns and you

can smell it when it comes out. It is dangerous to your tissues not to

neutralize it with something. When I was having a lot of pain from this, I took

a 500mcg tablet of molybdenum. It was so effective, it took away the pain of the

ammonia laden urine and also took away the pain everywhere in my body for a few

days!! And it is not expensive!

Since we do not have much info on the effect of this mineral in long term use, I

only take a pill when I feel pain. I do not need it every day anyway.

All the best,

Rita

Be careful with anything cranberry if you have Intercystial Cystitis from

damage to your bladder from Lyme or abx from Lyme tx. Cranberry can cause a

lot of IC flares. Many herbs also damage the lining of the bladder, not

help it. Be careful.
