Guest guest
Hello you two, I went for my second opinion yesterday and also to my Primary. Looks like I was turned downed down due to an error from a nurse my Primary was training. She was to go to him with request and was the one to send it not her and instead she submitted it with no supporting documentation. He is sure it will go through this time, and she no longer works there! We need to be so alert, because there are so many people in the medical profession that really should not be there. At least that problem should be solved. I love the new Pulmonologist. What a sweetheart. Spent so much time going over things I didn't even ask about. Said he wanted to be sure I left his office with no questions left unanswered. He also submitted a request for me to go to The National Jewish Medical Center. They have some trials that are ongoing and they may be able to help. I read a lot about them and that's where I'd like to go. I asked if I could stop taking AdVair and prednisone because I didn't think they helped. All I did was gain weight. He stopped the AdVair and cut the Prednisone down to 2.5 and said just see how that goes and if there is no difference, next month I could stop altogether. If I feel I need it, then go ahead and take it! One more good bit of news, my Ortho guy will do my knee surgeries without general anesthesia. otherwise , I wouldn't do it. I'm in mega pain in my knees at this point and the x rays show how severe they are. I hope when he sees me, he doesn't change his mind. If I could walk, then I could start loosing some of this weight I gained on the steroids! Thank you both for being there. Guest guest
It makes our days to hear a story like yours. But we do have to fight for ourselves. So glad you found such a good pulmonologist. As to the nurse, and apply it to doctors or anyone, I always remind myself. Half of them finished in the bottom half of their class. Out there somewhere is the one who finished last. I'm sorry, but I don't want him doing my brain surgery....lol > > > > > > > > For those who do not get the magazine from the lung association, > in > > > my recently arrived winter issue there is a good article on PF and > > > rehab. Guest guest
Sher, I have an appointment at the end of this month. I hope when he sees me, he won't change his mind. I sure have changed since he last saw me. He did my hip replacement and my rotator cuff. Just think, most of my injuries are sports related and now I can hardly walk through the house. And I've gained so much weight, I'm in a catch 22. More weight, more pain, less activity, more weight, more pain, less activity and on and on.......... What a mess. My Karma sure sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But the silver lining is, I would not have met all you beautiful people, if I didn't get sick. There is always something to smile about. So Thank you for touching my life! love ya, Ter Terry 11/07 IPF NevadaSher Bauman wrote: Terry... I'm glad things are looking up for you. Guest guest
Ter... I sure understand the 'cycles' we can go through. Hey! Your Karma is working fine...brought you to us and we all benefit. I'm learning to focus on what's working in my life and not on what is not working. I think you have a great attitude....if you could do better you would. No, let's say if you could do MORE you would. It's not a matter of better or worse. Let's kick sucky Karma in the butt and draw in the good. lol Mama-Sher, age 69.UIP/IPF, 3-06,OR. Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Guest guest
Terry Your comment about meeting us is so nice but echos one of my thoughts. Now, don't get me wrong, I still would have preferred not to have this disease. But, because of it I have more incredible friends in my life than ever before. Ironic isn't it? Also, I'm focused more on living and not putting things off. > > > > > > > > For those who do not get the magazine from the lung association, > in > > > my recently arrived winter issue there is a good article on PF and > > > rehab.
