Guest guest
Hi all. I had my surgery at PB on 3/14 by . It went very well at first, but then after I got out of the hospital and was staying in the hotel next door, I got dehydrated and had to be re- admitted for a couple of days. During that time they did a CT scan for leaks and found that there were none. So I flew back up here and am staying w/my parents for a few days before I try it solo at home. I feel very lucky that I have had relatively few problems compared to the lady who Dr. operated on before me who has had constant nausea ever since. One thing I wasn't prepared for is just how different my stomach feels now that it's in the middle of my chest and not in my gut. Even crying has a shallowness to it. I also didn't realize how hungry I would feel or how truly traumatic it would be to no longer have food to turn to in times of stress. For all you pre- ops, do whatever you can to address this issue beforehand as you really don't want to be smacked in the face with it while recovering from your operation. Plus, is it possible that I've actually gained 13 lbs since surgery? I am just starting to walk more, but how could I have gained that much weight? --
