Hi cyn Nice to hear from you. Boy your eye problem sure sounds scary and majorly frustrating. Is their any chance that some of the damage may repair itself after some time? I hope so. This must really effect everything you do. It is amazing how stubborn some Doctors can be. I dont know why they take so long to listen to us. I knew a girl who at 21 kept getting in car accidents ( like running into a motorcycle) and she kept telling her eye doc she really just didn't see them. He kept trying to tell her she was simply not paying attention and should focus more. Finally, probably to finally shut her up, he sent her after much insistance on her part to a specialist out of town. After a few test the doc told her to hand over her drivers licence she was legally blind and was on her way to total blindness. She was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa (spelling could be off). Anyway she should have been diagnosed years earlier if he would have listened. She still would be blind today but she could have killled herself and others driving while legally blind. There were sections of her vision that were just not there ...not blurry just non-existant. Pretty scary!!! Anyway I hope things start looking up for you. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and a great 2006. I saw a couple of ophthalmologists as well as my regular optometrist, and they all said there was

nothing wrong with my eye itself. The optometrist had used one of those computerized laser machines to look inside my eye, even had some "snapshots" saved on their computer from an exam I'd had the previous year. The technology allows them to see the entire inside of the eye, which is really cool to look at (they let me see the pics). There were no changes at all to the interior of my eye, the retina looked good, & even the connection to the optic nerve looked good. The optometrist (who is also an ophthalmologist, but I get my glasses there & usually see one of his optometrists) said the problem HAD to be with a specific part of my optic nerve, which controls the vision to the left portion of the left eye. It's a very small area, & if there was any pressure there, it could have caused the damage I'm experiencing. If I'd had an MRI immediately, instead of my doctors hemming & hawing around for 5 months, they may have been able to pick something up. But, it took me

that long (from the end of October to the middle of March) to convince my neurologist that there was something wrong. My PCP said it could have been a mini-stroke or small clot, so small that it dissolved by the time they did the MRI. I can't go back for another eye exam til Feb 1 (because of my eye insurance), so I won't know til then if there have been further changes. If there have been, they're definitely for the worse. I don't use my left eye much any more, because it's like the left lens of my glasses is fogged up & it's annoying. I don't wear my glasses when I read, & I close my left eye so I don't get "seasick", lol!cynAt 10:14 PM 12/15/2005, wendy lefebvre wrote: By the way Cyn your loss of vision it sounds alot like retina detachment which could be caused by several things I believe.
