Hi Lady!

Dr. Rutledge is the doc in NC that does this procedure. Blue Cross, Medicaid

and

Medicare from what I understand! Someone else on the list may know of others!

the onelist group knows of anyone who has had First Health for their

Approved quickly I hope! Replys will be

For anyone interested, I just thought that I would post this about insurance.

I finally have gotten all of my bills in. I don't have the papers right here

in front of me so I will round off the numbers.

Anesthesia was around 1400.00 of which I have to pay $184.00.

Dr. fee was around 4000 of which my insurance took care of the eligible

charges, about $2500.00 I think.

I got a claim form today from BC/BS showing the hospital charged them 11,500,

eligible charges were about $10,500.00 and my insurance paid all of it! Is

this a mistake? Since I am out of state my insurance only approved to pay

80%. Also I paid the hospital $2600.00 up front myself. If this is all true

and no mistakes have been made then the hospital owes me back about $1500.00.

Any opinions on this?

NO! I couldn't have paid that much up front. They told me a good guess for

the hospital price would be 13000.00, insurance pay 80%, so they charged me

20% of that which was $2600.00 that I paid up front. But, if the surgery

didn't cost the 13000.00 like they guessed (they only charged my insurance

11,500.00) then they owe me back some money! Goody! Anyone want to place

any bets on how long it will take me to get that money back???? LOL! Maybe

they will be good about it.

I don't know, but my charges were similar except for the hospital.

They charged my insurance company about 11,120 and also charged me and

additional 11,150. I had no complications and a two might stay. Sounds

excessive to me so I am looking into it.
