Guest guest
This has GOT to be a violation of FAA rules, and should probably result in immediate suspension of their operating license and the pilot's license. Guest guest
Using duct tape to repair a rotor would seem to me to be a violation of FAA rules. Any A & P mechanics out there? Gene
Guest guest
Dr. Bledsoe, I feel sure that you must be very confident in the source of behind this story or I know as much as you preach about having proof of something's worth you would never have forwarded it. If I may can I request you send a copy of the picture after the duct tape was applied and the aircraft is ready to take off. As an employee of Air Evac Lifeteam I find it very discouraging that someone like yourself who I've always had the utmost respect for would send something like that to a list serve unless you were absolutely sure that its true. Guest guest
Mark: While we're waiting for an answer from the source, I called a friend of mine at Bell Helicopter here in Fort Worth (a long-time Bell test pilot) who said the following. If there was enough of a problem concerning the integrity of the rotor to force an emeregncy landing, the only acceptable alternative would be to trailer the aircraft to a certified Bell repair facility where the rotors could be inspected, tested, and replaced. That then leaves the question: 1. Did an A & P mechanic come to the scene and do the study and certify the aircraft as airworthy? 2. Was the emergency landing a precaution and no problem found? 3. Was the witness (a county Coroner) lying? 4. Was an incident report filed? 5. Did the event happen as reported? BEB E. Guest guest
I have to say, if I were on that flight, it would have started back to Nashville less 1 paramedic. I would be learning everything I needed to know about the Amish, while waiting for the bus to arrive to take me home. Guest guest
Even if it's not true, Dr. Bledsoe posted it and something should be done about it! In fact, I think that the FAA should ban all aircraft of any type from flying in or through Kentucky!
