Guest guest
I was reading the posts today and was feeling sorry for myself after a somewhat painful HSG, but then I read your story about your miscarrage at 22 weeks. I am so sorry for your loss and especially about the emotional turmoil you must be going through due to the law suit. I must tell you thought, please please don't let this doctor, hospital or whomever, get away without at least giving it your best shot. I am very disappointed in myself because I was so very trusting and naieve. I gave birth 3 years ago to a happy healthy son, then 4 weeks later, bleeding, D & C, retained placenta, infection, blood transfusions (twice), septic infection in my blood stream which gave me a heart murmur, my bowels and bladder had completely shut down due to lack of blood supply, extremely low blood pressure, and anemia for the next 9 months. I continued to believe and trust in my OB because I felt he was doing the best thing for me and I thought " there is no way this man would cover up for so many mistakes, it must just be bad luck or complications, etc. " I also have a brother in law and two nurse friends who told me I needed to sue this doctor immediately. I felt the legal system was over run with frivolous lawsuits and I was not going to be part of it. I was going to move forward and have faith. Well, sad to say, I made a huge mistake. My OB continued to tell me I was fine, not to worry. I am currently in a position where my attorney is trying to figure out a way around the Statue of Limitations for Personal Injury. I waited too long to find out that I was being " treated delicately " since my doctor had HAD HAD to know there was something wrong with me. Today I find out, my case is severe, I have endometriosis (caused by the Ashermans--scarring shut of my cervix), and if I had been treated earlier, I would have had a better chance for complete repair of my uterus. Move forward and realize that your case is not just about your angel (both of them), but also about the fact that doctors and hospitals can not continue to treat their patients disrespectfully. (if a mistake is made, shouldn't they own up to it--whatever the costs) If a doctor is not aware of a particular problem, shouldn't they refer you to a specialist or at least apologize. Most doctors are wonderful, caring humans who have their own faults, but the MEDICAL INDUSTRY is creating monsters because they have much more power, money, time, lawyers, affiliates, political heavyweights, etc etc etc. They continue to preach to insurance co., doctors, hospitals, to cover their as--- (Behinds). I hope you have the strenght to move forward and my prayers are with you in your emotional, physical and spiritual recovery. W.
