Hi...

Where do you get the paperwork? > Your local Social Seccurity Office has the

paperwork or you can file online.

Do you need an attorney? > The first step does not require an attorney, in

fact a lot of attornies will not take your case unless you have been denied at

least once. Filing the claim is not that difficult if you do all the homework

and get your medical files in order. There is a checklist on the Social

Security site to do this.

I do not know how I will feel about asking my Dr.  about me filing for this. >

Your doctor will be be notified and asked to respond when you file so you need

to talk to him about it for two reasons, treatment and necessity. I told my

doctor the reality is that I cannot work, I am going to file for disability

while I can still move! He said he'd help me out with it and there was all there

was to it.

Am I giving up if I file? > That was my difficult issue too! People in this

group helped a lot with their knowlwdge and support.  No you are not giving

up, filing and recieving your SSI or SSDI is a battle, better roll your sleeves

up. But it is the reality. If you are sick and unable to work due to that

illness you are entitled to your benefits. It's that simple, you earned them.

Hope this helps!

there's absolutely no chemical compound that could trigger it? One that the 20%

twin probably would have avoided. I ask because I've had a lot of unique

chemical exposure in my career working as a graphic artist and printer. Also,

should I have washed my genes more often?

Since you haven’t worked full time in the last 10 years you may not

qualify.....depends on how much you DID work...and your benefits would be based

on your earning the last 10 years........did you earn at least 6000 each year

over the last 4-5.....if not you will not have enough credits to qualify......
