Guest guest Posted December 20, 2005 Report Share Posted December 20, 2005 HI, I was on shortterm disability and then quit a fulltime job I held for 15 years a little over two years ago. This was before my diagnosis and the stress from that job was probably one of the reasons I got this in the first place. Since then I have been working part-time - temp work, etc. I would really like to find a permanent position either fulltime (low stress) or part-time. My question is on most applications there is a question regarding current disabilities. Do I check yes? If I do, chances are no one is going to hire me. I dont think I would knowingly accept a job that I couldnt perform that is why I am working only parttime and temping. On the other hand, taking a job and later telling them " Oh by the way I have FMS " won't sit well either. Suggestions? I really think working at least part-time is something I need to pursue to keep my spirits up and to have something to focus on other than health issues.
